William Thames to Cornelius Thames
This Indenture made this ?? Day of March in the year of our Lord 1812 Between William Thames ?? of the County of Cumberland and State of No[rth] Carolina of the One Part & Cornelius Thames his son of the County & State aforesaid of the other Witnesseth that for this love friendship affection & Regard that the said William Thames ?? hath for the said Cornelius his son hath given granted assigned conferred & forever ?? unto the said Cornelius Thames a certain piece or Parcel of Land recorded as follows Beginning at a ?? oak East Side of this main Road Leading from Fayetteville to Wilmington the Corner of the Dividing line between him & David Thames then as said Dividing line No[rth] 83 East 29 ?? & 50 links to a maple tree on the East Section of the Branch nearest David Thames on the West Side then No[rth] 18 East 23 then to a Small Post Oak among Posts Oaks & a Sassafras Supposed to be in the upper line of said William Thames Survey then No[rth] 83 West 42 ?? & 30 links to the Main Road then as the Road to the Beginning containing Seventy Seven acres & a half be the Same More or Less Being the Back Part of the Tract whereon the now Lives Except the Part on the West Side of the Road which has been formerly surveyed the Same being supposed to be one Third Part of the Lands whereon he now lives & also all the woods ?? water courses & every Privilege & advantage ?? belonging ?? appertaining to the Proper use & Behalf of the said Cornelius Thames his heirs assign Executors or administrators forever all that Tract or Parcle of Land & his apportionment thereunto Belonging to the said William Thames ?? doth for himself his heirs Exectors Administrators assigns covenant to & with the said Cornelius Thames that he the said William Thames ?? & ?? wa[r]rant & forever Defend the aforesaid Lands from & ?? from this claim or claims of himself his heirs Executors Administrators or assigns --
