KILLED BY THE CARS
Michael Penders, aged 18, son of Thomas Penders of Detroit, Michigan, both
former residents of Rutland county, was killed instantly by the cars on
August 31 in Louisville, KY, where he had gone in search of employment. His
heart-stricken parents went for the remains and brought them to Fair Haven
for interment, which took place on Sept. 7. The remainder of the family
arrived on Sept. 8, with the purpose of remaining permanently in this
vicinity.
