In the Name of God Amen. The twenty Day of Aprile in the year of Our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Eighty five I Jacob Silar senior of Augusta County in the state of Virginia Being feabled of Body But in perfect mind and memory, Thanks to Almighty God, yet cal[l]ing to the memberance that it is for all men Once to Die, Do make and ordain this my last will and Testament. That is to say, principally & first of all I Recommend my soul to the hands of Almighty God Who gave it, and my Body I recommend to the Earth to be Buried in a Christian Decent manner at the Discretion of my Executor hereafter mentioned - - -

Nothing doubting but at the general Resurrection I shall Receive the same again by the mighty power of God -- And as touching such worldly goods wherewith it has please God to bless me within this Life I give and Dispose of the same in the following manner, that is to say, After my just Debts and funeral Expenses Being payed by my Executor of that Part of my Estate that is to be sold as soon as Convenient after my Discease - - -

I first Bequest to my Beloved Wife Dorothy During the term of her natural Life my plantation I now live on Containing threehundred & Eight Acres be the same more or less together with all the improvements, Buildings ?? thereon. Likewise her choice of two Milch Cows and my sorrel Mair, the best fether bed and furniture, My Clock, The two stoves, my large Chest, one iron pot Cooker & pothooks, with two pewter plates. But after my said Wife's Death I will all I have Bequeath to her to be sold together with my Plantation and the Money arising therefrom to be Divided amongst my Children as I shall hereafter Direct. And my Executor or the oldest Justice in Augusta Court I allow to make a Deed according to law for my said plantation when sold. And I further Will and Order that the part of my Estate that is to be sold after my Discas [sp] the money arising therefrom after my Just Debts is pay'd be also equally Divided amongst my Children in the way and manner hereafter mentioned - - -

Itim I Bequeath to my Eldest son Philip after my Discas [sp] five Shillings Sterling in lieu of his Birthright as heir at law as Also one tenth part of my Estate as above Directed that is to say, one tneth part after my Discease of what may be and one ?? part after my Wife's Discease of what may then be - - -

Itim I next Bequeath to my Daughter Magdelin at the death of her husband one Tenth part of my Estate in the same manner within mentioned. But if my Said Daughter should Die Before her husband then I alow her part to be Equally Divided amongst her children together with the interest of the same.

Itim I Bequeath to my son Jacob one tenth part of my Estate in ye manner above Directed Alsoe my great German Bible after my Discease - - -

Itim I Bequeath to my second Daughter Marry Catherine now married to Martin Yeaky one tenth part of my Estate as with in Directed.

Itim I do Bequeath unto my Daughter Anna Catherine now married to John David Grinar One tenth of my Estate as within Directed.

Itim I Bequeath to my Daughter Anna Marry now married to George Weighford One tenth part of my Estate as Within Directed.

Itim I Bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth married to Manauel Harlis One tenth of my Estate as within Directed.

Itim I Bequeath to my Daughter Marry Dorothy now married to Anthony Musto One tenth part of my Estate to be payd as within Directed - - -

Item I Bequeath to my Daughter Anna Margaret the second Best Bed and furniture. One Cow named Bloss, one heifer named Broun, One Black Mair Coalt now a year old. One Spinning Wheele. One Tin Pot. One Desk. And five Puter plates. Likewise One tenth of my Estate to be payed as within Directed. And lastly I Bequeath to my Daughter Eve Margaret now married to Olinger One tenth of my Estate in the manner above mentioned - - -

And I do hereby make Constitute and appoint Herman Lovingood my only & Sole Executor of this my last Will and testament and I do authorise my said Executor to sell all my Estate (Except what is herein otherwise Bequeath) according to my Directions and pay of the several legatees as is herein Directed According to the plain intent and meaning of this my last Will & testament - - -

And I do hereby utterly Revoke & Disannul all other wills Legassies [sp] or Bequests by me in any ways made before this by me Ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my last will and Testament.
