Husband's General Notes
From: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Estates/3443/genswyer.html Salomea married Ferdinand Emerick before 1837 (possibly in Buffalo). Ferdinand owned the Tozierville Tannery. It was located on the brook on the northwest corner of Humphrey Road and Centerline Road. (The area was known as Humphrey's Hollow and Tozier's Corners.) He bought the tannery and a barn in 1841 from Lester and Marcus Humphrey for $575, and, according to the deed, it was already a known establishment as the Tan Yard and Tannery. Ferdinand, in the deed, was also given a right-of-way to reach Centerline road from his property. In 1843 he purchased another 12 acres adjoining the tannery that contained a stone quarry. The seller (John Morgan of Napes, Ontario county) retained use of a two rod wide access to the stone quarry from the road, and half of the stone in the quarry. Ferdinand and Salomea are believed to be buried in the Humphrey Hollow Cemetery on Centerline Road. There is record of Ferdinand purchasing a plot in the cemetery, but there are no stones to indicate a burial.
