His parents settled about 2 miles south of Cowlesville, NY on forty acres of land in the town of Bennington NY. 1880 Census Census Place: Wales, Erie, New York Source: FHL Film 1254827 National Archives Film T9-0827 Page 205A - Living with in-laws Erhard and Margaret first lived in Buffalo. Erhard operated a saloon. After the birth of Margaret, Christ, and Mary, they moved to a farm on Route 20A known as the Allen farm where Erhard Jr was born. They also had two sons that died in infancy. Then they moved to Dutch Hollow NY where Erhard and Margaret both died and are buried in Dutch Hollow cemetery. Erhard was a cigarmaker.
