Timothy was born about 1672 [my guess] in Sussex Co., Delaware, where his father, Timothy II lived and died in 1720/21.

He was married to Dianah [surname unknown].

Timothy died in 1763, Rowan Co., North Caroline.

(By Melba A. Rector in THE HERITAGE OF SURRY COUNTY, NC)

1720/21 - Inherited from his father, Timothy COE II, in his Sussex Co., Delaware, will "a tract of land on the South side of Muddy Creek in Accomack County, Virginia to him and his heirs forever". He also received an equal share of the remainder of the estate with his mother, brother, and sister.

[I have a transcript of this will.]

1763 - Timothy acquired land in the part of Rowan Co., North Carolina, that later became Surry Co., then Yadkin. He was one of the early settlers in the area [the first being about 1752].

(Gunderson's index to HUGHES' HISTORICAL MAP OF YADKIN CO., NC. Maps available at Guilford College Library, Greensboro, NC. Copy in my file.)

That map index also shows that in 1779/80 three other COEs - John, Timothy, and Joe - had acquired land (some of it adjoining each other) in the same area. I assume they are sons of Timothy III; son Isaiah [born about 1755] not listed. Timothy might have had a daughter also; LDS Ancestral File says that Melley/Milly who married Benjamin Hudspeth was a Coe.
