For years I have been mostly a silent list member. Silent, mainly because I seem to be the only person researching my line of BRADYs in DCO. I keep watching, searching and hoping. The other day I found my first new significant nugget of information in about 4 years - thanks to a list member. This leads me to ask for information on a surname that is new to me. However, I have seen this name mentioned frequently on the list. The name is CRUMRINE. I am researching my gggg-grandparents, William and Elizabeth BRADY, who were in DCO in the 1820's and 1830's (William probably came to Washington township in 1817). William was a blacksmith in DCO and had 2 children while in DCO.
My new nugget of information provides William's wife's maiden name - something I have been trying to find for years. William's wife was Elizabeth CRUMRINE. Can anyone help me find information about her so I can chip away at my brick wall? Here is a portion of the document I recently found. The document starts out talking about one of William's sons - Daniel.
"Daniel BRADY was born in Darke County, OH, March 12, 182, and is one of nine children of WILLIAM and Elizabeth (CRUMRINE) BRADY, the former a native of New Jersey, the latter of Pennsylvania. WILLIAM BRADY, when a young man, went to Darke County, Ohio, where he worked at the blacksmith's trade for ten years. In March 1841, he came to Newton County, Indiana, and settled in Iroquois Township, buying what is known as the "Jacob Wright farm." He afterward removed to Barton County, Kansas, where he now lives. â¤|"
This article was from A History of Warren, Benton, Japer and Newton Counties (Indiana), 1883.
Other information: William BRADY was born 22-NOV-1803 and Elizabeth (CRUMRINE) Brady was born 11-MARCH-1809. Should anybody want it, I have quite a lot of information on William while he was in DCO and until his death. However, it is his pre-DCO days and his parents that I am trying to find out about (who ARE his parents???) Hoping to hear from some CRUMRINE researchers
