URE, Rev. David - D31/12/1845 - At Ayton, on the 31st ult., the Rev. David Ure, aged 73 years.

URQUHART/HAWTHORN, Martha - D19/2/1850 - At the Free Church Manse, Portpatrick, on the 19th instant, Mrs Urquhart. (MI from Portpatrick old graveyard. DGFHS Booklet no. 144 "In loving memory of Martha HAWTHORN wife of the Rev. Andrew URQUHART who died 19th February 1850. Also Rev. Andrew URQUHART A.M., J.P. Minister of the Free church, Portpatrick who died 10th March 1890 in the 58th year of his ministry and Mary HAWTHORN MINOT wife of the Rev. URQUHART, Rev. Robert - D22/9/1845 - At Kilbirnie Manse, on the 22d ult., the Rev. Robert Urquhart, minister of Kilbirnie, and for upwards of fifty
years minister of that parish. 

URQUHART/M’NEIL Wilelmina Eleanora - D5/4/1891 - At 21 Leamington Terrace, Edinburgh, on the 5th inst. Wilhelmina Eleanora Urquhart, relict of Wm. M'Neil, M.D. Stranraer. - Friends please accept this (the only) intimation.

VAN AGNEW, Sr. Mrs. - D20/3/1848 - At Lauriston House, Edinburgh, on the 20th ult., Mrs Vans Agnew, senior, of Barnbarroch and Sheuchan, aged 87.

VANS AGNEW, Henry Stewart - D30/6/1855 - At Berchem, near Antwerp, on the 30th ult., Henry Stewart Vans, Esq. aged 66, the fifth son of the late Robert Vans Agnew, Esq., of Barnbarroch and Sheuchan.

VANS HATHORN, Hugh - D6/6/1857 - Killed by mutineers, at a village near Bareilly Captain Hugh Vans Hathorn, 18th Regiment B.N.(I), only son of the late Vans Hathorn, Esq., of Garthland, W.S. Friends will please accept of this intimation. (Captain Hugh Vans Hathorn - murdered by 'villagers' near Bareilly - 6th June 1857. Only son of the late Vans Hathorn, of Edinburgh. VEITCH/BRYDONE, Ann - D5/6/1844 - At Green Bank, Selkirk, on the 5th inst., after a long and very severe illness, Ann Veitch, wife of Wm Brydone, Esq., Paymaster and Purser, R.N..

VEITCH/AGNEW, Euphemia - D10/9/1852 - At sea, on board the "Tipoo Saib" on th 10th Sept., within a fortnight's sail from Melbourne, from the effects of sea sickness, Euphemia Agnew, eldest daughter of the late George Agnew, Esq., Sheriff-Clerk of Wigtownshire, and wife of Mr James Veitch, lately schoolmaster of Wigtown.

VEITCH, James - D27/5/1845 - At Aitket Muir, Ruthwell, on the morning of the 27th ultimo, at an advanced age, James Veitch, church officer to the Rev. Dr. H. Duncan. The deceased was going about his usual employment up till 6 o'clock of the previous evening.

VERNON/BIRKMYRE, Agnes - D9/2/1887 - At Mount Vernon, Newton-Stewart, on the 9th inst., Agnes Birkmyre, relict of Samuel Vernon, aged 87 years.

VERNON, Jas. - D7/5/1865 - At 122 King Street, Glasgow, on the 7th inst., Mr Jas. Vernon, shoemaker, formerly of Newton Stewart, aged 56 years. - Friends will please accept of this intimation.
