Will of John PEBERDY, 1860
This is the last Will and Testament of John PEBBERDY Blacksmith of Normanton upon Soar in the County of Nottingham After the payment of my just debts and funeral expenses I give and Bequeath to my wife Sarah PEBBERDY all my household furniture and effects Also I give and bequeath to the said Sarah PEBBERDY for the term of her natural life my Dwellinghouse with the Blacksmith shop and appurtenances thereto belonging situated in the said parish of Normanton upon Soar And I give and bequeath to my sons Francis and Charles PEBBERDY after the death of my said wife Sarah PEBBERDY all my said Dwellinghouse Blacksmith’s Shop and the appurtenances thereto belonging I give and bequeath to my sons Francis and Charles PEBBERDY all the good will Implements tools utensils and stock in trade of my trade of Blacksmith to their joint and absolute use On Conditionthat the said Francis and Charles PEBBERDY do keep maintain support and treat with dutiful affection my said wife Sarah PEBBERDY during the term of her natural life And as to the residue of all my real and Personal Estate I give devise and bequeath the same to the said Francis and Charles PEBBERDY and I hereby appoint them the said Francis and Charles PEBBERDY Executors of this my Will AS WITNESS my hand this Twenty sixth day of May in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixty
John PEBERDAY------------------Signed and Acknowledged by the said John PEBBERDY the Testator as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us being present at the same time who at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses Joseph POWELL B.A. Rector of Normanton on Soar Joseph GARNER Shoemaker
In Her Majesty’s Court of Probate The District Registry of the County of Notingham----------I the Reverend Joseph POWELL of Normanton upon Soar in the County of Nottingham Clerk make oath that I am one of the subscribed witnesses to the paper writing hereunto annexed purporting to be and contain the last Will and Testament of John PEBERDAY late of Normanton on Soar aforesaid, Blacksmith, deceased (who died on the second day of September One thousand eight hundred and sixty at Normanton upon Soar aforesaid) the said Will commencing thus “This is the last Will and Testament of John PEBBERDY” ending thus “As witness my hand this twenty sixth day of May in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixty and being subscribed thus “John PEBERDAY” and having viewed and perused the said Will and Particularly observed the words “Mary” severally struck through with a Pen throughout the said Will and the words “Sarah” interlined over the same respectively I this Deponent make Oath and say that the several alterations and interlineations specified as above were so made before the said Will was executed by the said Testator and that the same is now in all respects in the same state plight and condition as when executed by the said deceased And that he executed the same on the day of the date hereof by signing his name at the foot or end thereof as the same now appears thereon in the presence of me and of Joseph GARNER the other subscribed witness thereto both of us being present at the same time and we thereupon attested and subscribed the said Will in the presence of me the said Testator-------Joseph POWELL-------On the sixteenth day of March 1861 the said Joseph POWELL was duly sworn at the Town of Nottingham to the truth of this Affidavit before me Ben HAWKRIDGE District Registrar On the nineteenth day of March 1861 the Will of John PEBERDAY otherwise PEBBERDY late of Normanton upon Soar in the County of Nottingham, Blacksmith, deceased was proved by the Oaths of Francis PEBERDAY and Charles PEBERDAY in the Will written PEBBERDY both of Normanton on Soar aforesaid, Blacksmiths (the sons) the Executors named in the said Will having been first sworn duly to administer Ben HAWKRIDGE District Registrar Effect under ₤100 Died 2nd September 1860 Probate extracted by the Executors |
