Wednesday, July 2nd, 1828 The Derby Mercury

PROPERTY:   TO BE LET for a term of years, subject to the determination thereof by the death of the Rev.

Wm. HOLMES, the present Incumbent, The Rectory House, at Normanton upon Soar, in the county of Nottingham,

with productive Gardens, coach-houses, stabling and requisite out office, together with about seven Acres of

excellent Meadow Ground, adjoining the River Soar.

The House consists of entrance hall, dining and drawing rooms, library, four Bed rooms, servants rooms and every

requisite convenience for the accommodation of a small genteel Family.  It is pleasantly situated on the Banks of

the Soar, and commands extensive and picturesque scenery.  The Market Town of Loughboro'  is within two miles,

and the Quorndon Kennels little more than three miles distance, and the immediate neighbourhood is highly

respectable.  The House is well aired and may be entered upon immediately.

PROPERTY :  Valuable Freehold and Copyhold

Estate, at Donington,Quadring and Gosberton, Lincolnshire – John LUMBY respectfully intimates that he has received

instructions to offer for sale by Auction, some time in the month of November next, in lots apportioned to meet the

convenience of purchasers, the Estate lately held by the widow of the late Rev. William HOLMES, of Normanton on

Soar, Nottinghamshire ; containing about 600 acres of valuable arable meadow, and pasture, divided into

moderately-sized farms, with suitable farm-houses and buildings, 432 acres of which are freehold and tithe free,

and the remaining 167 acres are copyhold.  Further particulars will appear in future papers, amd may be had on

application at the respective offices of Mr. Brock, solicitor, Loughborough ; of Messrs Freeth and Rawson, solicitors,

WILLS & BEQUESTS:   Major-General Sir John Francis BURN-MURDOCH, K.C.V.O., C.B., C.M.G., C.B.E., D.L., of

Normanton on Soar, Loughborough, and of New Lodge Yorks, who died on January 21, aged 71, left, in addition to

real estate, unsettled personal estate of the total value of £74,568, of which the personal estate in Great Britain

amounts to £71,467.
