She was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and a member of Mars Hill United Methodist Church.

She was a daughter of the late Verne L. and Bertha Newman Moses. She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm R. Culpepper; parents, listed above; son, Johnny R. Culpepper; and two brothers, Wayne and Herman Moses.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law,and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held at Sunrise Cemetery at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4.

The family received friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, in the North Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Faye Forgety, 120 County Rd. 447, Athens, TN 37303; or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 6009 Center St., Memphis, TN 68106.

Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah was in charge of arrangements
