She married about 1835 Thomas Culpepper (b abt 1808, Norfolk County,Virginia; d September 10, 1854, Norfolk County Virginia), the son of Sampson Culpepper and Mary Peacock. On April 8, 1845, in the Account and Sales of John Martin, Sea Captain, deceased, she is mentioned as being the daughter of Henry Martin and the wife of Thomas Culpepper (Will Book No. 12, 1834-1847 , York County, Virginia, pages 482-483). On April 18, 1849, there was an Indenture between Thomas Culpepper and his wife, Margaret Ann, of the Parish of Portsmouth, Norfolk County, Virginia, and Samuel Martin of the same. Thomas and Margaret Culpepper sold to Samuel Martin for $250.00, and estimated four acres of land situated at “Scott’s Creek,” and bounded on the east by Scott’s land, on the south by Haymore’s land, west by Culpepper, and northwardly by Scott’s Creek (Norfolk County Deed Book 76 , Virginia, page 244. Mrs. Margaret Ann (Martin) Culpepper died before 1857 in Norfolk County, Virginia.1,2 |
