Mary Jane O'Ferrell

F, (say 1840 - )
Birth*say 1840 Mary was born at Alabama say 1840.
Married Name30 May 1860  As of 30 May 1860, her married name was Culpepper.
Marriage*30 May 1861 She married Jeremiah Culpepper at Butler Co., Alabama, on 30 May 1861.1,2
(household member) 1870 Census1 June 1870 Mary, Cynthia, William, Sarah and Darrel listed as a household member living with Jeremiah Culpepper on the 1870 Census at Lowndes Co., Alabama.3
(Wife) 1880 Census1 June 1880 Mary was listed as Jeremiah Culpepper's wife on the 1880 Census at Pine Apple, Wilcox Co., Alabama.4
Biography* This writer assumes that Mary was the mother of all of Jerry's children listed in the 1870 census of Lowndes County, AL. If that was the case, then she could not have been born in 1850, as the 1870 census seems to indicate. If the 1850 birth date is correct, then it is possible that she was Jerry's daughter by his first wife, or else was his third wife. Further research is needed.
