Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. EST Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Cusseta with Rev. Mark Hudson and Rev. Wallace J. Ratliff officiating according to Vance-Brooks Funeral Home in Columbus. A private interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening (Tuesday) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. EST at the funeral home. Mrs. Culpepper was born June 23, 1939 in Columbus, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Frank Phillips and Myrtle Williams Phillips. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed fishing and working in her flower garden. Mrs. Culpepper was a member of First Baptist Church of Cusseta and previously served as Tax Commissioner of Chattahoochee County. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Phillips, and three sisters, Betty Jean Phillips, Lillian Fryer, and Margaret Ratliff. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Arthur W. Culpepper of Cusseta, GA; three sons, Mike W. Culpepper and Jeanie of Cusseta, GA, Robert 'Ken' Culpepper and Stephanie of Smiths Station, AL, and Eric Culpepper and Karen of Cusseta, GA; two sisters, Christine Lisle of Fortson, GA, and Elaine Mann and husband Bill of Cataula, GA; five grandchildren, Robert K. Culpepper Jr., Amy Culpepper, Anthony Culpepper, Ben Culpepper, and Taylor Culpepper; many nieces, nephews, extended loving family, church family, and friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to First Baptist Church of Cusseta, P.O. Box 369, Cusseta, GA 31805, in honor of Mrs. Gloria June Culpepper.1 |

The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00-5:00 PM in the Wynnton Room of Striffer-Hamby. Mr. Culpepper, son of the late William Floyd Culpepper and late Mattie Belle Kemp Culpepper, was born September 3, 1931 in Chattahoochee County, GA. He was in the flooring business and was the Owner of Culpepper Flooring in Columbus. Mr. Culpepper served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Other than his parents, Mr. Culpepper is preceded in death by his son, Edward Eugene Culpepper; four sisters and three brothers. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Culpepper of Columbus, GA; son Steven Culpepper of Columbus, GA; sisters Sarah C. Ginn, Patsy C. Miller, Peggy A. Culpepper, Jane C. Sterling (Billy), and Gloria C. Mastrean (Dan); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Columbus Hospice.2 |

Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara Joiner Culpepper, one daughter, Susan Bryan (Buddy); three sons, Robert Culpepper (Susan); Tommy Culpepper (Joan); Jim Culpepper (Susan) all of Columbus, GA; five sisters, Sarah Ginn of Ellerslie, GA; Jane Sterling (Billy) of Cataula, GA; Gloria Mastrean (Dan); Patsy Miller; Peggy Culpepper all of Columbus, GA; one brother, Gene Culpepper (Betty) of Columbus, GA; nine grandchildren, Bo, Ben and Chris Bryan; Wesley, Patrick, Bethell and Cates Culpepper; Brittney Keeler and Berkley Blanchard; four great - grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and devoted cousin, J.T.
