Cooper, 78, of Route 3, Pavo, died Wednesday at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held Friday at Ione Methodist Church with the Rev. Marshall Singletary officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The son of the late Albert and Leona Turner Cooper, Mr. Cooper was born Jan. 3, 1909 in Brooks County, where he spent his entire life [a certificate of removal from Wesely Chapel, Colquitt Co., GA was issued to his father, A. H. Cooper, in Apr 1909 which would suggest that the family did not move to Brooks Co., GA until after the birth of Ezra]. He was a farmer and a member of Ione Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be Wynton Stringlin [Striplin?], Bo Pate, C. H. Cooper, Randal Cooper, Cecil Norman and Morris Cooper. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jewell Carroll Cooper of Pavo; one son, Hilton C. Cooper of Pavo; one brother, Lamar Cooper of Pavo; two sisters, Berline Striplin of Moultrie and Viola Plymel of Marietta, Fla; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

(Betty Lee Collins) Hale, is from p. 2A of the Weekly Moultrie Observer Wednesday 8 Jan 1986: Elkin Uland Cooper Funeral services for Elkin Uland Cooper, 66, were to be held at 2 p.m. today at Ione United Methodist Church near Pavo. The Revs. James Davis and Marshall Singletary were to officiate with burial in Lebanon Cemetery at Pavo. Mr. Cooper died Monday at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville following a lengthy illness. He was a farmer and life-long resident of Route 3, Pavo. Pallbearers were to be Wynton Striplin, Carol [Carroll?] Cooper, Randall Cooper, Ivelyn Beverly, Charlie Hugh Cooper and Bobby Ferguson. Born May 8, 1919, in Thomas County, he was the son of Albert Henry Cooper and Lona Dora Turner Cooper. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Betty Ruth Phillips Cooper, two sons, Norris Cooper and Phillip Cooper, two daughters, Leah Cooper and Ellen Cooper; two brothers, Ezra Cooper and Lamar Cooper, all of Pavo; two sisters, Berline Striplin, Moultrie, and Viola Plymel, Marianna, Fla. The body will remain at Cobb Funeral Chapel until the funeral hour.

Funeral services were held Nov. 20 at Pavo United Methodist Church with burial in Lebanon cemetery. The Rev. James Davis officiated. John Harris, Roger Harris Jr., Wendell Cooper, Edwin Holton, Clarence Reichert Jr. and Steve Cooper served as pallbearers. The former Mattie Irene Cooper, Mrs. Harris was born in Colquitt County on March 15, 1898. Survivors include a son, Roger Harris of Valparaiso, Fla; a brother, Claxton Cooper of Valdosta; six sisters, Ora Bond and Mildred McGregor both of Pavo, Evelyn Holton of Bainbridge, Bernice Cooper of Athens, Agnes Reichert of Boston and Mavis Horner of Churchton, Md. Three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Cooper died Wednesday [11 Jun 1980?] in Brooks County Hospital after a long illness. He was 77. Mr. Cooper was born on April 14, 1903, in Brooks County, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Cooper. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Pavo United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife Mrs. Nora Cooper of Pavo; one son, Ronald Cooper of Amarillo, Tex; a step-son, Albert Woods of Thomasville; two daughters, Mrs. Geneva McCollumm [McCollum] of Atlanta and Mrs. Opal Kinney [Kenney?] of Lanette [Lanett], Ala; three step-daughters, Mrs. Margaret Hart of Pavo, Mrs. Barbara Donaldson of Thomasville and Mrs. Elizabeth Graham of West Palm Beach Fla; one brother, Claxton Cooper of Valdosta; and seven sisters, Mrs. Irene Harris and Mrs. Ora Bond of Pavo, Mrs. Evelyn Holton of Tampa, Fla., Mrs. Mildred McGregor of Pavo, Mrs. Agnes Ricert [Reichert] of Bostin [Boston], Ga., Miss Bernice Cooper of Athens, and Mrs. Mavis Horner of Churchton, Md.
