Services Held For Ben A. Walker, 74 Of Center Point

Ben Arthur Walker, 74 a resident of Center Point for the last 60
years, died Monday in the Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital. He
was a native of Lavaca Cousty. Rev. D.G. Hardt, pastor of the
Center Point Methodist Church, officiated at the rites which
were held Tuesday afternoon in the chapel of the Smith Funeral
Home.

The survivors are one sister, Mrs. Claude Wellborn of Center
Point, and two brothers, Stanley Walker and Luther Walker,
both of California.
Pallbearers were Louis Rees, Earl Adams, Prestice Witt, E.R.
Leach, Aaron Ferris and Bud Bishop.

Burial Sunday For Mrs. Minnie Wellborn, 83
Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Wellborn, 83, were held in the Center Point Cemetery Sunday, under the direction of Plummer-Fair. Her death occured in a San Antonio hospital last Thursday.
A native of Sweet Home she had resided in Center Point for more than 50 years and was a member of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by two children, Mrs. Estelle Tewksbury of San Antonio and Claude Wellborn of El Paso, two brothers and two grandchildren.

Burial Tuesday For Claude Wellborn, 79
Claude Wellborn, 79, died Sunday at the Peterson Memorial Hospital
after a several weeks illness. Graveside services were held for him
Tuesday afternoon in the Center Point Cemetery, with Rev. N.A. Mills
pastor of the Baptist Church, officiating. The services were under the
direction of Smith Funeral Home.

A native of Center Point, he had spent his entire lifetime there and
was a retired farmer and ranchman. He was the last of the children
of Samuel and Karherine Miller Wellborn, who came to Kerr County
from Gonzales in 1872.
.
His immediate survivors are his wife and two children, Lamar Wellborn
of El Paso and Mrs. Estelle Wellborn Tewksbury of San Antonio; and
two grandchildren. |
