Lynn also noted that Ira and Alice had no children however, the Culpepper Heritage Association records list two children, Steven and Wash, who both were listed as having "died as infant."

Biography* Mrs. Harvey W. (Glenna Harris) Mauldin preserved the following information: F. Earl Mauldin said on 2/22/85 that the Mauldins came to Yuma, AZ in 1916. They camped on a hill and could see the lights of the town the night before. It took almost all day to get there the next day. There was one store, about 40 huts, and a lot of land. He hired hundreds of teams of mules and Mexicans to level the land, then eight trains of prospective buyers were brought in to see the land. In 1985, Frank moved from Yuma to Coolidge, AZ.(Mrs. H. W. Mauldin letter 27 Feb 1985.)

She sold the beauty shop when Nadyne became ill and bought a small grocery store with living quarters where she could manage it and care for Nadyne until she passed away. Berta went to Dallas, worked for Charles for 8 months, back to Lubbock and went to work for a better dress shop doing alterations as she had been a dressmaker all of her life. Berta married John McKelvey, a wealthy older man in 1954. They had a good marriage for 12 years, lovely home in Lubbock, and travelled a lot. She had lived with her daughter, Velma [in Garland, TX] the past 3 years.
