Obituary* Brooks O. Culpepper, Jr., age 70 of Portage, passed away in his home on Sunday, September 19, 2004. Brooks was a retired employee of Bethlehem Steel Corp., he was a graduate of Lew Wallace High School, class of 1952, a Veteran of the Korean Conflict U.S. Army and a Friend of Bill for 20 years. He is survived by wife of 47 years, Carol Jean Culpepper of Portage; two daughters, Cindy G. (Dave) Nelson of St. Joseph MI and Kelly J. Culpepper of Hobart; one son, Brooks O. Culpepper III of Hobart; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Verlin (Joseph) Novotny of Hobart; brother-in-law, Ken Clingan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 23,2004, at 11:00 A.M. at Burns Funeral Home (Hobart) corner of Rt.51 and 7th Street with Pastor Phil Bubar. Services will terminate at the funeral home with cremation at the Burns Funeral Home Crematory. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M.1
