She was an avid golfer, joining the Olton Ladies Golf Association in 1959. She was a lifetime member of the High Plains Ladies Golf Association and achieved two holes-in-one during her golfing career which she retired from at age 91. She was married to Bill Weaver for more than 50 years. He precded her in death in May 2007. She also was preceded in death by her first husband, Hugh Rice, and a son, Larry Rice. Survivors include one brother, Curtis Malone of Colorado; one sister, Jometa McLain of Hart; three grandchildren, Kay Toombs and her husband, Freddy, of Merkel, Larry Rice and his wife, Dana, of Sugarland and David Rice and his wife, Lori, of Houston; and 10 grandchildren, Kristina, Kara and R.J. Reedy; Erin, Larry, Kelly and Jamie Rice; and Jason, Casey and Hanna Rice. Published in the Plainview Daily Herald from 6/1/2007 - 6/2/2007.2 |
