Obituary*17 April 2000 Conley Clinton Culpepper, 61, of Sheridan, died 15 Apr 2000, at his home. He was born 29 Mar 1939, at Pine Bluff, a son of Irene Culpepper of Sheridan and the late W. Jay Culpepper. He was a member of Center Grove United Methodist Church. Other survivors include four brothers, Jay Glenn Culpepper of Little Rock, Paul Culpepper of Atlanta, Texas, and Gary Culpepper and Barry Culpepper, both of Sheridan; and two sisters, Brenda Haynes and Cynthia Winston, both of Sheridan. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Center Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dan Brand officiating. Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery by Buie Funeral Home of Sheridan. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. SHERIDAN -- Conley Clinton Culpepper, age 61, beloved son, brother, and friend passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2000. He was born March 29, 1939, in Pine Bluff, Ark. He was the son of Irene Culpepper and the late W. Jay Culpepper. He is survived by his mother, Irene Culpepper; four brothers, Jay Glenn of Little Rock, Paul of Atlanta, Texas, Gary and Barry of Sheridan; and two sisters, Brenda Haynes and Cynthia Winston of Sheridan; and many nieces and nephew. Clinton was a special blessing to all who knew him. He was a member of Center Grove United Methodist Church where the funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Dan Brand on Tuesday, April 18, at 2:30 p.m. the family will receive friends at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Center Grove United Methodist Church, 4852 Hwy. 270 East, Sheridan, AR 72150. Pallbearers will be Marc Haynes, Jimmy Winston, Harry Culpepper, Dr. Clyde Paulk, Ross Smith , and John Gyllim. Honorary pallbearers are his brothers and sisters.2

Obituary*10 October 2010 SHERIDAN - Jay Glynn Culpepper, 70, of Sheridan (Grant County, Arkansas), passed away on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010. He was born on April 29, 1940, in Springhill, La. He was the son of Irene Culpepper and the late W. Jay Culpepper of Sheridan.
     He served in the United States Army in Pusan, Korea. He was called into the ministry 25 years ago and became an ordained United Methodist pastor. With much devotion, he lovingly served his parishioners in the following churches: Cathage Charge, Sulphur Springs Methodist, First United Methodist of Bearden/Thornton, First Methodist in Pine Bluff, Western Hills United Methodist in Little Rock, Asbury United Methodist in Magnolia, and then retired from First United Methodist of Carlisle this year and continued serving part-time in England at the First United Methodist Church.
     He was preceded in death by a brother, Conley Clinton.
     He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Libbi Richardson Culpepper; and siblings to include a sister, Brenda Haynes of Sheridan; brothers, Paul Culpepper and wife Darlene of Atlanta, Texas, Gary Culpepper and wife Maryanne, Barry Culpepper and wife Sandy and sister Cynthia Winston and husband Jimmy all of Sheridan. Surviving children include Jay Glynn Culpepper Jr. and wife Lori of Moataca, Va; Mynde Emerson and husband Kenny; Candi Finley and husband Stacy all of Fordyce. His grandchildren include Logan Jay and Haleigh Culpepper of Moataca, Jackson and Abby Emerson and Allaynah and Pierce Finley all of Fordyce. Other survivors include many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
     A memorial service will be at Center Grove United Methodist Church in Sheridan at 2 p.m. On Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010. Visitation will follow immediately after the service. Arrangements are being handled by Roller England Funeral Home (501) 842-3939.
