The funeral for Joseph Douglas Rowell, 89, of Notasulga will be Thursday, March 11, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at Corbitt's Funeral Home in Tuskegee. Reverend John Weeks will officiate and burial will follow in the Notasulga cemetery.
Mr. Rowell died March 8, 2004 at Oak Park in Auburn.
His survivors are his wife, Marjorie Sue Rowell of Notasulga; one son, Thomas Rowell of Notasulga; 4 grandchildren, Thomas (Amy) Rowell, Jr. of South Bend, IN, Jeff (Tina) Rowell of Auburn, Freddy Rowell of Marietta, GA., and Lisa (Marius) Deac of Marietta, GA; 4 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Tyler, Tate and Nicholas Rowell; 2 brothers, George (Winnie) Rowell and E. P. (Carolyn) Rowell, both of Loachapoka.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Corbitt's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.2 |

Biography* | | Obituary: Richard Lee Culpepper, 81, of Chattanooga died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001, in a local hospital. He was a native of Savannah, Ga., graduating from Georgia Tech with a mechanical engineering degree in 1941. Dick worked for Combustion Engineering Co. from 1946 to 1982 and served as a major in the U.S. Army's Aviation Ordinance Group from 1942 to 1946. He was a charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, a registered professional engineer, past president of the Chattanooga Engineers Club and a lifelong member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Riley Culpepper and Ruth Brown Culpepper; and his sisters, Winifred Culpepper and Ruth Culpepper George, all of Atlanta. He is survived by his wife, Ann Toehl Culpepper; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Sue Culpepper, Chattanooga; daughter, Beth Brown, Kansas City, Mo; grandchildren, Angie Culpepper and Chris Culpepper, Chattanooga. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Clifford Herd officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Moore Road.5 |
