Nolin of Eufaula and Mrs. Harmon Deese of Columbus, Ga.: three sons, Otha and Lister of Linwood and Quitman of Columbus, Ga.: two sisters, Mrs. Ola Linis of Dozier and Mrs. Esther Kennedy of Brantley. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday from Sandfield Church with the Rev. W. T. Wilkins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with McGehee Funeral Home of Troy in charge.5

CULPEPPER DIES RESULT OF WOUNDS

Gus Culpepper, 28 died this morning at seven o'clock at a local hospital from gunshot wounds said to have been inflicted by Tom Stewart and his son. The shooting affray took place in Bullock County just over the Pike County Line late Thursday afternoon.

Mr. Culpepper is survived by his widow, Mrs Chellie Poole Culpepper, of Banks, Route 2; a son Willie Culpepper; one daughter, Mary Lee Culpepper also of Banks, Route 2; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Culpepper, of Linwood, Route 1, three brothers, Lester, of Perote; Otha, of Corinth; and Quinton of Columbus, Ga; half-sister, Mrs. Rose Mary Canady, of Eufaula; sister, Mrs. Harmon Dees, of Corinth, Ala., and many other relatives who mourn his tragic death.

Funeral will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p. m., from the Ramah Church with the Rev. Lon Renfroe and the Rev. Aaron Green officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery with McGehee Funeral Home directing.7,6

Mattie C. Dease Poole, 84, of Troy died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000 at her home. Services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000 at Zebulon Baptist Church with the Revs. Wayne Locklar and Earl Oaks officiating. Burial will be at Sandfield Cemetery in the Sandfield Community with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. Pallbearers will be Bryant Davis, Bobby Davis, Billy Davis, Willie Culpepper, Earl Culpepper and Clinton Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Dorrill and Dr. Todd Pearlstein.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Harmon Dease and L.G. Poole; two daughters, Margaret Dorrill and Laura Jean Adams. Survivors include her daughter, Irene Starling of Troy; son-in-law, Max Adams of Troy; six grandchildren: Joyce Cobb, Bryant Davis, Bobby Davis, Billy Davis, Pattie Kline and Donnie Dorrill, all of Brundidge; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
