A devoted wife, mother and homemaker, she was married for 56 years to Walter Shelley Culpepper, Jr., a New Orleans physician who died in 1999. She is survived by her three children: Mary Margaret Culpepper Hesse, Walter Shelley Culpepper III, and David McLean Culpepper. Sister of George Elmer McLean, and the late Elmer Wallace McLean. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Caitlin Ayers Hesse Collier, Shelley Jeunesse Hesse Murray, Richard Culpepper Hesse, Jennifer Elizabeth Culpepper, Etheldreda Maurer Culpepper, and David McLean Culpepper, Jr., and her two great-grandchildren: Logan Culpepper Collier and Cole Jeunesse Collier who knew her affectionately as "Weesie." Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchar-train Blvd., on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 11 o'clock.
