Obituary*30 November 2016 Milton Irving "M.I." Culpepper of Chelsea, AL passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016. MI was born in Meridian, MS, June 14, 1929 to Milton Irving Culpepper, Sr. and Margaret Medora Brown. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Chelsea. M.I. graduated from Spring Hill College in 1948. Served with United States Navy Reserve, 1947-52. He was Facilities Manager at Cities Service Oil Co., in Birmingham from 1955-69. Recipient of Meritorious Service award, 1968. He graduated Cumberland School of Law in 1969 at the age of 40 and became Legal Counsel and Assistant to the Chairman for the Department of Surgery at UAB. In 1971, he was a lobbyist to Alabama Legislature and also served as Legal Counsel and Assistant to the President of UAB Health Services Foundation in Birmingham. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Theresa Long Culpepper and his sister Jane Carol Culpepper. He is survived by his son, Michael Irving Culpepper (Cindy) and daughter, Donna Gene Hancock both of Chelsea, AL, and daughter, Margaret Jane Dow (Chris) of Mobile and eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation services will be at Liberty Baptist Church in Chelsea, AL on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 11:00am with funeral and burial services following at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Liberty Baptist Church.8
