Moses Armstrong was a Primitive Baptist Minister and preached at Old Shiloh, a now disbanded church for over 100 years a mile north of the Abbie Creek in Henry County on the old Columbia to Abbeville Road (County Road 53) on the east side of the highway. Elder Moses Armstrong is buried at Old Union Cemetery a few miles north near Union Freewill Baptist Church.

Obituary*10 September 2014 Eugene E. Culpeper, 87, Matthews, died September 4, 2014, at Novant Matthews Medical Center. He was born August 10, 1927 in Chesapeake, Virginia to the late Betty Etheridge and George Culpeper. Mr. Culpeper spent 37 years working for Dupont where he was instrumental in bringing on the first computer. For 63 years he was the loving and devoted husband of Frances Laughinghouse. One of his greatest passions was spending time with his family particularly at the beach. In addition to being survived by his wife, Frances; he leaves behind a son Blair Culpeper and his two children: daughter Kathleen Culpeper and son William and his wife Kim and their two children Michael and Elizabeth. He was predeceased by one son David Culpeper. Private graveside services will be held at Forest Lawn East Cemetery in Matthews. Heritage Funeral Home - Weddington is handling the arrangements.
