Biography* | | The family of William E. Reagan and Helen G. Laird (maiden Lester) was full of girls with only one surviving son (James M. Reagan). The family moved from Newton County (later Rockdale County, Georgia) sometime after 1880 and settled in Ashland because there was some family there (I don't know who exactly). Other names associated with this family are your Deans, Ogletree, and Gillum. William served with Company F of the 42nd Georgia Infantry (the Newton County Rifles).2
