Obituary* | 6 January 2015 | Agatha was born in Eden, Texas on August 8, 1935 to Frankie Lee and Edwin Tabor. She died peacefully on January 3, 2015 surrounded by family. She had three sisters that preceded her in death: LaMoyne Bass, Dephane "Daffy" Tabor, and VonDean Lawson. Agatha grew up in Midland and raised her family in Odessa. She was a member of Midland High School class of 1953 and a majorette for the Bulldog Band. Agatha married her high school sweetheart, B.H. "Speck" Culpepper, and had 4 children. She is survived by Mike "Cullie" Culpepper and Robyn of Burnet, Texas; Gloria Culpepper LeBleu and Tom of Lafayette, Louisiana; Jennifer Culpepper Coleman and Phillip of San Angelo, Texas and Sandy Culpepper of Dallas, Texas. Agatha had 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She also counted the Bass kids (her nephews and niece) as her own: Vance, Gregg, Scott, Reed, and Linda Avery. "Ms. Cul" was beloved by all her children's friends and classmates. The house was always full of kids. She chaperoned Cotillion dances, band trips, Girl Scout meetings and events, and other impromptu occasions. As an avid Permian Panther fan, Agatha's Friday outfit of black slacks, black blouse, and a white stadium sweater, became a life-long uniform. It has been rumored that Agatha led numerous TP (toilet paper) outings. The family and close friends deny any responsibility. Agatha worked for and retired from Mobile Oil Company. She actively participated in and coordinated many of the Pegasus activities. Agatha was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority for 15+ years. She was also active with the Girl Scouts, even spending one summer cooking for the scouts at Camp Mitre Peak. Agatha will be remembered for her feisty spirit, quick wit, outgoing personality, and colorful story telling. She enjoyed music immensely and never turned down a chance to sing. Determined to give her children a foundation in music, she baked goods and ironed clothes in exchange for the Culpepper kids' piano lessons. Please join us in the Celebration of Life for Agatha at Ellis Funeral Home in Midland on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 1:00 pm.2 |

Jackson McClung1
M, (circa 1858 - )
Father | Riley McClung1 (s 1832 - b 1860) |
Mother | Mary Ann Elizabeth Martin1 (c 1832 - 15 Jun 1910) |
Birth* | circa 1858 | He was born circa 1858 at Georgia.1 |
(household member) 1860 Census | 1 June 1860 | Mary, Katie and Jackson listed as a household member living with George Washington Culpepper in the 1860 Census at Harris Co., Georgia.1 |
(household member) 1870 Census | 1 June 1870 | Katie, Georgia, John and Jackson listed as a household member living with Mary Ann Elizabeth Martin on the 1870 Census at Harris Co., Georgia.2 |
Name Variation | 1 June 1870 | As of 1 June 1870, Jackson McClung was also known as Jackson Culpepper.2 |
Name Variation | 1 June 1880 | As of 1 June 1880, Jackson McClung was also known as M. Jackson Clun.3 |
1880 Census* | 1 June 1880 | Jackson was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census at Harris Co., Georgia.4 |
Biography* | In 1860, Jackson McClung appears as 2 years old in the HH of George W. Culpepper, his wife Mary, and a 25-year-old Ann McClung, who must have been Jackson's mother. In 1870, he is listed as Jackson Culpepper, living with George W. and Mary Culpepper. In 1880, he is the head of household and listed as M. Jackson Clun, half-brother to Mary Culpepper's other children. This latter census suggests that Mary and Ann in the 1860 census were probably one and the same, Mary Ann Elizabeth Martin, who married first a Mr. McClung, and second, George W. Culpepper.
