Mrs. Elma West Culpepper, 93, died Monday, Sept. 28, 1998, in Marianna [FL]. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Malone with the Rev. Andy Wolverton officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Culpepper, a native of Houston County, Ala., had lived in Malone most of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Malone. Survivors include three sons, W. H. "Pep" Culpepper, Augusta, Jimmy Culpepper, Malone, and Kenneth Culpepper, Dallas; four daughters, Nina Purdue, Marianna, Gayle Bradberry, Bascom, Voncile Herring, Malone, and Pat Johnson, Savannah; a brother, Preston Calloway, Warner Robins, GA; three sisters, Lena Love, Tallahassee, Loudean Baxter, Malone, and Omagene Holland, Columbus, GA; and 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of Malone. James & James Funeral Home, Marianna, is in charge of arrangements.7

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hopewell Church Cemetery of Moultrie, with the Rev. Leo Davis officiating. Mr. Culpepper, a native of Ashford [Houston Co.], Ala., had retired as a construction supervisor for Columbia County Roads and Bridges Department. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Johnson Culpepper; a daughter, Vivian [Culpepper] Estabrook, Sylva, N.C; two brothers, Jimmy Frank Culpepper, Malone, Fla., and Kenneth Culpepper, Dallas; four sisters, Nina Jo [Culpepper] Purdue and Voncile [Culpepper] Herring, both of Malone, Gayle [Culpepper] Bradberry, Bascom, Fla., and Patricia [Culpepper] Johnson, Albany; and two grandchildren. Obituary*30 November 2016 Joe Wayne Bradberry, 79, of Bascom died peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 19, 2016. He was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County. Joe served our country in both the United States Air Force and Navy. He retired from Insurance Sales after working for Independent Life and American General insurance Companies in the Marianna Service area. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Bascom where he served as a deacon. Joe touched many lives playing guitar and singing throughout his life.He was Preceded in death by his father, Joe Franklin Bradberry; mother, Ruby Arlene Johnson (Conrad); Brother, Roy Bradberry and a sister, Margette Bradberry.He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gayle Culpepper Bradberry; daughter, Lana Blackburn; two grandsons, Trevor and Seth Blackburn; sister, Jeanette Taylor and several loving nieces and nephews.The family received friends, Monday, November 21, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 10 a.m. from the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Bascom with Dr. Jerry Windsor, Revs. Henry Fullington and Paul Moore officiating. Interment followed in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Homes Maddox Chapel Directing.1
