Obituary*say 31 July 2014 After years of a bravely fought battle with Liver and Renal Cancer, Jim walked peacefully through the gates of heaven to meet his Lord on July 29, 2014 at 4:20pm. He was surrounded by many family and friends at his bedside, comforting him in this journey.

Jim was born and raised in San Diego County, spending much of his formative years in La Mesa, CA. In July of 1968, Jim voluntarily enlisted in the U.S. Army at the tender age of 17, and was subsequently deployed and proudly served in the Vietnam War with the 1st Cavalry and Triple Deuce Company attached to the 25th Infantry. This experience had a profound affect on Jim and greatly influenced the outstanding person he would become throughout the entirety of his life. After his military service, Jim spent the bulk of his 30+ year career working in San Diego County in the construction industry, mainly specializing in the construction of various underground utilities. In 2004, Jim retired from the industry as Superintendent of BRH Garver.

Upon retirement, Jim relocated to Hermosa, South Dakota, just outside of Rapid City. He loved South Dakota and found immense peace and contentment in this serene area. However, last year he came back home to San Diego for further medical treatment and to be closer to family and friends, as family and friends were of paramount importance to him.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 10:30am at Christ Lutheran Church in La Mesa. Jim will be interred at Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date. Jim was preceded in death by his beloved father Howard, brother Mike, Aunt Jean and various other loved ones that he was looking forward to seeing. Jim is survived by his wife of 32 years, Marci; sons Joe and Jess; grandson Elias; brothers Richard and Edward; Sisters Etta and Renee; Cousin & Best Friend Paul Lawton, and many other beloved brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

"God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers"--May you rest in peace sweet Jim.6

Beth was born in Paterson, New Jersey on November 15, 1952, the youngest daughter of Joseph and Julia Keyes. She is survived by her older sister Kathleen "Kady" Clark, who she never called anything but "Sister;" was the proud and loving mother of two sons, Joseph and Jess Culpeper; and three adoring step-children, Steven, Stacey and Crystal Lawton; and two beautiful nieces, Amber and Vanessa Clark. The absolute light of her life was her two year old grandson, Elias James Culpeper. Beth loved being surrounded by her family and friends, and spending time cuddling with her two little doggies. She was a kind, gentle, and loving person who was hysterically funny, and could make you laugh until your face hurt. The holidays were her favorite time, when everyone gathered at a family member's home to celebrate, where each person brought their own special dish and you could always count on Beth to bring the olives!!Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 5th, 2016 at 1pm in Oak Hill Memorial Park, 2640 Glen Ridge Rd., Escondido, CA 92027.2

     Rob was a devoted and loving husband to Jan Culpeper for more than thirteen years. They had two wonderful boys, Matthew, 11 and Ryan, 9. He is also survived by his mother, Carole Schaefer and her husband, LeRoy "Lee" Schaefer, of Everett; his father, Robert (Bud) Culpeper and his wife, Carolyn Culpeper, of Lemon Grove, CA; grandmother, Katherine Keller, of La Mesa, CA; sisters, Terri Kincade, Brenda Paulson, Jeanna Bauer, Barbara Kring and husband, Dan, Connie Lindsay, and Carrie Jambresic and husband, Ernest, who all live in the area.
There are also many family members including in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews along with his many friends and co-workers who will miss him very much.
