Ernie Lee Culpepper, 52, of 531 Country Club Road, died Aug. 20, 2003, at Bryan Center in Brevard (NC). Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Vernon and Mildred Pore Culpepper and was a retired textiles worker. Surviving are sons, Ricky Culpepper of Greenville and Randy Culpepper of Easley; a brother, Vic Culpepper, of Greenville; and a grandchild. Funeral services will be private. Family members are at their respective homes. -- Westville Funerals and Cremations is in charge of arrangements.¹

Mr. Vernon L. Culpepper, 68, of 230 Adams St. died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at home. A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Laurelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Gary Cooper officiating. Mr. Culpepper was of the Baptist faith and was a retired self-employed concrete finisher. Surviving are his caretaker, Violet Padgett Lee of the home; two sons, Ernie Culpepper of Brevard, N.C., and Vick Culpepper of Greenville; his brother, Charlie Culpepper of Greenville; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 tonight at Greene Funeral Home. William Edwards..⁴

Jack Nichols Culpepper, 76, of Memphis, retired salesman, died Saturday at Methodist Healthcare-North. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Forest Hill Funeral Home East with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery East. He was a World War II Navy veteran, lay Eucharist minister and member of St. Elisabeth's Episcopal Church for 38 years, and founding member of Shelby Youth Sports. Mr. Culpepper, the husband of Peggy Culpepper for 49 years, also leaves two sons, Al Culpepper of Knoxville and Kelly Culpepper of Jacksonville, Fla; two sisters, Sarah Sinclair and Anne Culpepper, both of Oklahoma City, and seven grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to St. Elisabeth's Episcopal Church.⁴

Obituary:
Dorothy Irene Culpepper, 74, passed away on November 19, 2006 in Longview, Texas following a courageous battle with cancer. Services for Dorothy will be 2 PM Saturday, November 25, 2006 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Road, with the Reverend Roy Broadbrooks officiating. Interment will follow at the Hallsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, November 24, 2006 at the funeral home.
     Dorothy was born December 20, 1931, in Marshall, Texas; the daughter of A. W. and Fannie Cisco. In 1950 she married Jerry Eugene “Gene” Culpepper in Gadsden, Alabama. The couple settled in East Texas and both retired from Made-Rite Bottling Company in Longview after lengthy employment with the company. Dorothy especially enjoyed spending time with her family and attending school activities and sporting events of her children and grandchildren throughout the years.
     She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Culpepper; a granddaughter, Chasity Culpepper; and seven brothers and sisters, Alvin Davis, O.H. Cisco, Doyle Cisco, Frances Cisco Ford, Elizabeth McGee, Louise Snellings and Venita Hill .
     She is survived by her two sons and daughter, and their spouses, Sammy and Linda Culpepper of Longview; Jerry and Becky Culpepper of Hallsville; and Judy and Ken Hartley of White Oak; grandchildren, Jerry “Bubba” Culpepper and Chelsey Culpepper of Hallsville and Jeannie Frazier of Arp; great-granddaughter, Madison Foster of Hallsville; brothers, Arlie Davis of Killeen and Wayne Cisco of Marshall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
     The family wishes to extend their appreciation to all the friends and care-givers that have provided their support and prayers during her lengthy illness; including the medical staffs of M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Longview Cancer Center, Good Shepherd Home Health and Summer Meadows Nursing Home. The family requests that memorials contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
