Mr. Culpepper was in the U.S. Army and a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church. She was born in Charleston, a daughter of Earl Edward Boyer and Ila Chavis Boyer, on Tuesday, November 24, 1936. Mrs. Culpepper was a homemaker but had also worked the register at Rosebank Farms. She loved her flowers and cooking, either catering or simply baking a cake. Mrs. Culpepper enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Above all else was her love of god and her church, First Assembly of God. She is survived by a son, Kenneth Culpepper of John's Island; a daughter, Sherry Cordray of Hollywood, SC; two grandchildren, Rachel and Jarrett Culpepper of Ravenel; six siblings, Fran Carver and her husband Ed of Wagener, SC, Lloyd Boyer and his wife Anne of John's Island, Paul Boyer and his wife Judy of James Island, Billy Boyer and his wife Vyonne of John's Island, Marie Boyer of Ruffin, SC and Carroll Boyer and his wife Frances of John's Island. Mrs. Culpepper was predeceased by two sons, Michael Terry Culpepper and Randall Kerry Culpepper. The family will receive friends this evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. The relatives and friends of Lunette Jane Culpepper are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 3:00 PM, Monday, September 8, 2008 at the James A. McAlister Chapel. The burial will be held in Carolina Memorial Gardens. The family has asked that donations be made to the First Assembly of God, Mission's Project, 2857 Savannah Hwy. Mrs. Martha H. Culpepper died Friday, July 23, 1999, in Thomson. A private funeral service was held with with the Rev. Wade Palmer officiating. Mrs. Culpepper, a native of Columbia County, had retired as a member of the McDuffie County Board of Education. She had taught for 12 years at Dearing High School. She was a member of the Dearing Baptist Church. She was a Sunday School teacher, director of the Young Woman's Auxiliary and was principal of the Vacation Bible School at Dearing Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Marcia Culpepper Harden; son-in- law, Greg Harden; granddaughter, Anna Harden; grandson, Marcus Harden, Thomson; Two brothers, Jabie Sanford Hardin Jr., Memphis, Tenn., and Dr. John A. Hardin, Augusta; two sisters, Edith Hardin Reese, Leah, and Ruth Hardin Mathews, Falls Church, Va. Memorials may be made to the Department of Medicine Research, c/o Dr. John A. Hardin, 1120 15th Street, Augusta, GA 30912. Starling Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.2
