Obituary*30 June 2012 Josephine Tamez Culpepper, 58, passed from this life into eternal rest on June 26, 2012. "Josie" was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 19, 1954. She graduated from Incarnate Word High School in 1972 and attended San Antonio College. On September 24, 1977 she married William Eugene "Gene" Culpepper in San Antonio. They later moved to Houston where Josie spent most of her working career in the automotive industry. She was a lifelong fan of the San Antonio Spurs, the Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys.
     Josie is preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Luz Tamez of San Antonio.
     She is survived by her beloved husband of 34 years, Gene Culpepper; siblings and their spouses: sister Mary Lou Johnson and husband Ken of San Antonio, sister Irma Thomas and husband Jim of Trophy Club, Texas, and brother Dr. Daniel D. Tamez, Jr. and wife Anna Lisa of New Braunfels; brother-in-law Wayne Culpepper of Crosby, Texas and brother-in-law Joe Culpepper and wife Ruth of Fairfield, Ohio; and ten nieces and nephews and one great nephew.
     Although we will miss her presence deeply, we are comforted knowing that God has taken her into His arms and removed all disease and sickness forever. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association . A mass celebrating her life will be held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in San Antonio on July 3, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 4:30 p.m.2
