William Culpepper

M, (between 1830 and 1840 - )
FatherJames I. J. Culpepper (3 Jun 1806 - 15 Oct 1846)
MotherMartha Byne Blackstone (28 Sep 1814 - 23 Dec 1899)
DNA* William has been proven by DNA and genealogical research to be a descendant of Joseph Culpepper of Edgecombe Co., NC, who is a son of Robert Culpepper of Lower Norfolk, the son of Henry Culpepper of Lower Norfolk, VA.
Research note* Our DNA project has led us to conclude that an unknown person (born 1861) was the son of an unidentified Culpepper, born 1830-1840, who in turn was the son of James I. J. and Martha Blackstone Culpepper.

Given the facts that William Culpepper enlisted for service in Co. B, GA 37th Infantry, and brothers an unknown person and an unknown person both enlisted in this same unit, we believe it likely that William was their brother and thus the previously unidentified son of James I.J. and Martha Blackstone Culpepper.1
Birth*between 1830 and 1840 He was born between 1830 and 1840.
Civil War*between 1862 and 1865 He served in the War Between the States between 1862 and 1865

William Culpepper, Muscogee Co, GA, Enlisted on 12 Aug 1862 as a Private and mustered into Co. B, GA 37th Infantry, Wounded 16 May 1864 at Resaca, GA. He was Surrendered on 26 Apr 1865 at Greensboro, NC.
