Obituary*say 11 October 2014 Lora was born October 5, 1924 to Lora Etta Culpepper and Floy Cleo Pilley in Sagerton, TX. She was raised on the family cotton farm.
In 1942 she graduated from Sagerton High School as their Valedictorian. She also earned a tennis scholarship to attend Southern Methodist University but instead she married her high school sweetheart Cohnie Rae Abbott. They had two beautiful children Daniel Rae Abbott and Linda Loretta Abbott. In 1955, they moved onto a small farm in Conroe, TX but later divorced.
In 1957 she married Odis Carl Longbotham and had one son Ricky Lynn Longbotham.
In 1993 she met and married a compassionate man, William Wilson of Houston, TX.
During her life Lora was a member of the First Methodist Church of Conroe, The Lions Club of Panorama Village and Order of the Eastern Star, Willis Chapter No. 1017 of Willis, TX.
Lora was an accomplished seamstress all her life. She took pattern drafting at the University of Houston around 1950. Her daughter Linda has fond memories and photographs of the wardrobe her Mother created for her.
Surviving Family Includes:
Daughter: Linda Abbott Davis, her husband "Bill" David William Davis;
Grandson: Scott Davis, wife Jennifer and Great-Granddaughters, Jessica Ann Davis and Ashley Abbott Davis, and Great-Great-Granddaughter Blaire Abbott Carver.
Grandson: Steven Davis, wife Stephanie and Twin Great-Grandsons, Hunter and Chase.
Grandson: Dan Abbott of Renton, WA.
Grandson: Danny Abbott, wife Kathy and their children Nichole Cuello, Daniel Abbott III & Joseph Abbott.
Granddaughter: Lilly Abbott-Johnson of Connell, WA.
Double Cousin: Margaret Pilley of Rule, TX.
Nephews: Michael Pilley, wife Terry and Pat Pilley, wife Fonda of Marble Falls, TX.
Lora had an extended family though out the Marble Falls area.
Sister-in-law: Tillie Pilley of Clute, TX.
