Obituary*22 May 2003 Elridge E. "Pepper" Culpepper, 82, left this world to be with his Lord on May 19, 2003.
     He retired from foundry work with General Motors in 1967 and had lived in San Antonio since 1991. Pepper was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II. He was an avid gardener and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
     He is survived by his wife, Muriel "Jean"; sons, Clifford Johnson of Saginaw, MI, Elridge Culpepper Jr. of Tracy, CA, Floyd Perry Jr. of Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Tanya F. Cameron of Las Vegas, NV and Dr. Chantal Culpepper of Hattiesburg, MS; brothers, Millard Culpepper of Detroit, MI, Ralph, Ray and Russell Culpepper all of Saginaw, MI; sister, Brenda Galvin, also of Saginaw, MI, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
     A Memorial Service will be included in the 11:00 A.M. Worship Service on Sunday, May 25, 2003 at the Candlewood Community Baptist Church which currently meets in the Candlewood Elementary School Cafeteria with Brother Jim Simmons officiating. Donations in Pepper's name may be made to the Building Fund of the Candlewood Community Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements through Simplicity Funeral Home.1

Obituary*23 March 2011 Mr. Ray Charles Culpepper passed away at the age of 75 years. He was born February 13, 1935 in Saginaw, MI, the son of Walter and Ruby (Pitts) Culpepper. Mr. Culpepper was a graduate of the Saginaw High School class of 1953. He worked at the Grey Iron Foundry for a short time before joining the U. S. Marine Corps. In 1952, he became a volunteer with the Lutheran Charities Neighborhood House Community Center in Saginaw, MI, a place he often went to during his early teenage years. In 1959, he was hired as a full-time staff member and in 1964, he became the Program Director. He retired on January 10, 1997 after 45 years of exemplary dedicated service.
     He leaves to cherish his precious memory, three brothers, Robert (Alberta) and Lanary Ralph (Shirley), all of Saginaw, MI and Russell (Edna) of Lancaster, TN; one sister, Brenda (Carl) Galvin of Saginaw, MI; many nieces, nephews and cousins; three sisters-in-law, Prestine of Detroit, MI, Jean of San Antonio, TX, Marylan and Dorothy, both of Saginaw, MI; the many young people he mentored and helped to raise, and numerous co-workers and friends.
     Per his request, Mr. Culpepper has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 25, 2011 at The Neighborhood House, 3145 Russell Street. Elder Dempsey Allen will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Neighborhood House in memory of Ray Culpepper.1

Obituary*26 February 2010 AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Geneva Clark Culpepper, of Augusta, died on Wednesday, February 24, 2010. She was 93 years old. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 27, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2010 in the funeral home chapel. The committal service will follow at Pine Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Greg Bentley will officiate.
     Mrs. Culpepper is survived by her son, Jimmy M. Clark and his wife Joan of Hephzibah; his daughters, Sara Clark Tadlock of Evans, Jewel C. Chavous and her husband Sonny of Augusta; fifteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
     Mrs. Culpepper was preceded in death by her son, Vernon " Candy" Clark and her son in law Bill Tadlock. Mrs. Culpepper was the wife of the late Galphin Clark who died in 1965 and the late Phillip Culpepper who died in 2008.
     She was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church. Prior to her retirement, she worked for J.B. White. During her retirement years, she enjoyed being an Avon Lady. Mrs. Culpepper enjoyed gardening, reading, yard work, and she was a good cook.
     Memorials may be made to Pine Hill Baptist Church, 4233 Old Waynesboro Road, Hephzibah, Georgia 30815. She graduated from Grenada High School and attended Harding College in Searcy, AR. She worked at Camp McCain in Grenada and the Welfare Department and Mississippi Vocational Rehabilitation in Charleston, MS. Mrs. Culpepper had previously been a resident of Indianola, MS Charleston, MS and Grenada, MS.
     She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert B. Culpepper; a daughter, Robin Rae Culpepper; her parents; one sister, Mary Kathrine Moss; and one brother, Sydney Taylor Kettle.
     She is survived by a daughter, Kaye Culpepper; grandchildren Marlee and Casey Weir; and sister, Martha Jane Hoskins of Franklin, TN.

     She leaves two daughters, Dianne (Jerry) McLendon, Mendenhall and Teresa (John) Lisenbe, Meridian; grandchildren, Brad Barr (Christy), Mendenhall, Missie Barr (Chris) Armstrong, Simpsonville SC, Jeff (Trish) Barr, Hickory, NC, Jason Pittman, Mendenhall, Sarah Linsebe and John Norris Linsenbe both of Meridian and eleven great-grandchildren.
     Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Mendenhall or Mendenhall City Cemetery.1
