Obituary*8 June 2013 Glenda Ann Martin Culpepper, aged 74, passed away June 6, 2013, in Marietta, Georgia. She was born July 7, 1938, in Dekalb County, Alabama, to Myrtle Cooper Martin and Raymond Martin.
     She is preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle, her father, Raymond, sister and brother-in-law, Betty Martin Evans and Rufus Evans, and brother, Jackie Neal Martin.
     She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gleason Ray Culpepper, their daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda Gail Culpepper Briscoe and husband Eddie of Brevard, North Carolina, and Dawn Culpepper Dowdy and husband Greg of Powder Springs, Georgia; their grandchildren, Megan Rae Briscoe, Lindsey Briscoe, Melissa Dowdy, Tyler Dowdy, special nieces and nephew Lynn, Lee and Wyatt, sister-in-law Jerry Martin, brother-in-law James Culpepper and many other loved nieces and nephews.
     Glenda was raised in the Whiten Community in Dekalb County and attended school at Dekalb County High School. On November 6, 1954, she married her high school sweetheart Gleason Ray Culpepper. Side by side, she and Ray raised each other, their two precious daughters, and their pride and joy - four fabulous grandchildren. She is a most beloved and honored wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.
     A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm, Sunday, at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home & Crematory Macland Chapel, with Rev. Tony Samples officiating. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Fort Payne, Alabama. Contributions may be made to First Methodist Church in Fort Payne, Alabama, or a charity of your choice .
