Mr. Culpepper was born on November 19, 1936 in Anderson County, South Carolina. His father and mother, Paul Culpepper and Lois Gambrell Culpepper, preceded him in death. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines and spent most of his working life with the Life of Georgia Insurance Company as an insurance agent. He was of the Methodist faith, loved fishing, hunting and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Culpepper of Hogansville; son, James Edward (Eddy) Culpepper, Jr. and his wife Peggy of Iowa; daughter, Mary Katherine Culpepper Knight and her husband David of Loganville; son, Robert Lee Culpepper of Monroe; brothers, Bobby Culpepper and Mike Culpepper and his wife Donna; 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; special caregiver, Catherine Rushforth.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel. Interment to follow at the Shadowlawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) or Hospice LaGrange at 1514 Vernon Rd., LaGrange, 30240.
