Sue had a great sense of humor; she was always smiling and laughing about something. She loved her family and was very passionate about life. Sue is predeceased by her parents; sisters, Jean Wright and Leta Wright; and granddaughter, Tonya Young. Sue is survived by her husband, Jasper C. Culpepper of Leola; sons, Doug Young of Leola, Scott (Susan) Young of Little Rock, and Ricky Perser of Leola; step-son, Curtis (Jennifer) Culpepper of Leola; daughters, Leann Sallee of Sheridan and Cheryl (Troy) Burnett of Sheridan; brothers, Bill Wright, Bud Wright, Carl Wright, and Johnny Wright; sister, Norma Laroux; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and his caregivers, Lena McJunkins and Sissy "Joyce" Gamboa. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Atkinson Chapel. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Brush Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tommy Barker, Ford McJunkins, Tim Rushing, Kim Rushing, Larry Westfall, and Keith Koon. Obituary* | 6 April 2015 | Vivian Culpepper Evatt, 96, died Friday, April 3, 2015, at The Blake in Gulf Breeze, Florida. Mrs. Evatt was a faithful member of First Baptist Church. She, along with her husband, Rogers, owned Rogers’ Studio for over 30 years. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, April 6, at Wilson Funeral Home in Fort Payne, Alabama, with Dr. Pat McFadden and nephew Dr. Bobby Welch officiating. Burial followed in Glenwood Cemetery in Fort Payne. The family will receive friends Monday from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. hour of service. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Tidwell (William), of Gulf Breeze; grandsons Philip Tidwell (Heather), of Centennial, Colorado, and Dr. Brett Tidwell (Dr. Crystal), of Gulf Breeze; great-grandchildren Berkeley Tidwell and Carter Tidwell; and sister-in-law, Myrlean Traffenstedt; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Zona Matthews; husband, Rogers Culpepper; husband, Guy Evatt; sister, Berthel Bryars; brothers, Houston Matthews and J.D. Matthews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church, Celebrate Faith, 106 Grand Ave. N., Fort Payne, AL 35967 or Emerald Coast Hospice, 1555 N. Palafox St., Pensacola, FL 32501. Wilson Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.1 |
