A longtime resident of Chattanooga and North Georgia, he was retired owner and operator of Kennedy Tire Co. and also worked for the NASA Program at Brown Engineering.
He was a member of East Chattanooga Church of God and was a veteran of the US Navy.
Mr. Kennedy was preceded in death by his son, Keith Kennedy ; parents, Earl & Estelle Kennedy and brother, Earl Kennedy Jr.
Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Sue Perkins Kennedy; daughter, Kelly Kennedy, Ringgold and son, Ken (Becky) Kennedy, Cumming, GA; sister, Lois "Frankie" Visage, East Ridge; grandsons, Zach and Jake Kennedy and Alex Stewart; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Fred Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gds., South with Zach Kennedy, Jake Kennedy, Alex Stewart, Mike Lee, Stefan Hanley and Charles Madison serving as pallbearers.2 |

Born on April 1, 1943, in Echols County, she was the daughter of the late Loyd Mark Kinsey and Eva Mae Kinsey. A proud business owner and a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Darrell Culpepper, and a grandson, Samuel Lem Culpepper. Mrs. Culpepper loved meeting and talking with people. She was a member of Oasis Family Church and enjoyed baking cookies for the KAIROS Prison Ministry.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2016, in the chapel of the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park, Georgia. Dr. Mark Holloway, Pastor Hank House and Mr. Jason Culpepper will officiate. Burial will follow at Carter Cemetery in Echols County. The family will receive friends at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tift Area Hospice....1 |
