of northeast Pennsylvania

A family legacy worth remembering.


In the 1840s, Aaron and Sarah Fuller with two kids under 10, made the trek into northeastern Pennsylvania from Sussex County, N.J., and settled in the Newton area. The last of the children, John, would die there in 1925.

AARON FULLER b. 3-Jan-1816 in New Jersey to parents who were natives of New York state, was married on 18-Nov-1836 in Sussex County, N.J., to Sarah Melissa Kimble, daughter of Ephraim and Jane (Mabee) Kimble. She was born 30-Mar-1820 in New Jersey and died 27-Dec-1887. Aaron died 4-Jan-1899. They are buried in the Newton Center Cem., in Newton, Pa. Their children:

I. Sarah May Fuller b. 6-Oct-1837 in New Jersey and died 29-Oct-1837, and is buried at North Church, N.J.

II. Emeline Roe Fuller b. 21-Jan-1839, Hardyston, N.J., and married first on 28-Dec-1854 to Henry Ackerson, son of John H.and Sarah J. Ackerson. Henry was born 1-Mar-1835 in New Jersey and died 12-Apr-1859 in Michigan, and is buried in the Newton Center Cemetery in Newton, Pa. Emeline married second on 8-Dec-1859 at Pittston, Pa., to David Aylesworth Baker, son of Robert and Elizabeth (Conklin) Baker. David was born 13-Apr-1834 in Orange County, N.Y., and died 29-Sep-1899 in Schultzville, Pa. Emeline died 15-Nov-1901 and is buried alongside her second husband in the Newton Center Cem., in Newton, Pa..

III. Mary Delphine Fuller b. 5-Jul-1841, Stillwater, N.J., and married to Lewis McCloskey, son of Timothy and Fanny McCloskey. Lewis was born 24-Aug-1837 in Pennsylvania, and died 3-Apr-1905. Mary died 1-Jan-1899 in Milwaukee, Pa., and they are buried in the Newton Center Cem., Newton, Pa.

IV. John Fuller b. 20-May-1848, Newton, Pa., and married Lucinda Vincent, daughter of Joshua and Ann Vincent. Lucinda was born 24-May-1852 in New Jersey, and died 16-May-1941. John died 1-May-1925. They are buried in the Newton Center Cem., Newton, Pa.

V. Beach Fuller b. 30-Sep-1850 in Pennsylvania, and died 28-Aug-1866 and is buried at Newton Center Cem., Newton, Pa.

VI. Wesley Fuller b. 20-Aug-1857 in Pennsylvania, and died 21-Nov-1870 and is buried at Newton Center Cem., Newton, Pa.

VII. Ella Fuller b. 8-Sep-1860 in Pennsylvania, and married to Philip Frank Hubler, son of Jacob Kepler and Catherine (Frank) Hubler. Philip was born 7-Dec-1850 In Huntington, Pa., and died 18-Apr-1928 in West Pittston, Pa. Ella died 10-Nov-1888 and is buried at Newton Center Cem., Newton, Pa.
