The information on the Robbins Family is gathered from many sources. I begin work on this genealogy about 1978.  It is believed that the Robbins Family came from England to Edgecomb and Brunswick Counties,  migrating to Coosa County, Alabama and then to Winn Parish, Louisiana before 1855. My great grandfather's brother, Joseph is believed to have surveyed most of Winn Parish.  My father, Oliver Robbins, who was from Rapides Parish, Louisiana met my mother in Shelby County, Texas, where they were married in 1927.  He died in Rapides Parish, Louisiana from a truck wreck in 1936, leaving my mother with four children.  Many sources of my information are from:

       The first member of the Robbins Family that has been traced is NICHOLAS ROBBINS, was born in Duxbury, Maine,  He married ANN (last name unknown).   He died 12/09/1650 in Plymouth, Mass.

The children of Nicholas and Ann Robbins:

1.  THOMAS ROBBINS, child of Nicholas and Ann Robbins, married ISABELLA (last name unknown).  She was born in Westmoreland County, Virginia.

The children of Thomas and Isabella Robbins:

a.  THOMAS ROBBINS, JR., first child of Thomas Robbins, was born in 1695.  He married SARAH (last name unknown).  She died in 1809. 

The children of Thomas and Sarah Robbins, Jr.:

1a  WILLIAM ROBBINS, first child of Thomas and Sarah Robbins, Jr.. was born 1711 in Edgecomb, North Carolina.  He married MARY BATTLE in 1740 in North Carolina.   Born ca 1710, she was the daughter of WILLIAM and SARAH HUNTER BATTLE.  She died in Edgecomb County, North Carolina.

The children of William and Mary Battle Robbins:

3b  JOHN ROBBINS, third child of William and Mary Battle Robbins, married CATHERINE DEW, the daughter of DUNCAN and ELIZABETH DEW.

The children of John and Catherine Dew Robbins:

4b  LURANEY ROBBINS, fourth child of William and Mary Battle Robbins, married MICHAEL ELIAS HORN.

The children of Michael and Luraney Robbins Horn:

5b  ARTHUR ROBBINS, fifth child of William and Mary Battle Robbins, was born April 14, 1742 in Edgecomb County, North Carolina.  He married MARY PENELOPE SELLARS April 14, 1764 in North Carolina.  She was born in 1748 in Edgecomb, North Carolina and died April 23, 1822 in Brunswick County, North Carolina.  Arthur died September 20, 1819 in Brunswick County North Carolina.

The children of Arthur and Mary Sellars Robbins:

1c  ARTHUR ROBBINS, JR.  first child of Arthur and Mary Sellers Robbins, was born in 1768 in Brunswick County, North Carolina.  He married REBECCA ANDERSON.   She was born in 1770 in Brunswick County, North Carolina.  Arthur died April 16, 1814 in Brunswick County, North Carolina.

The children of Arthur, and Rebecca Anderson Robbins:

6c  BENJAMIN ROBBINS, sixth child of Arthur and Mary Sellars Robbins, was born August 7, 1787 in Edgecomb County, North Carolina.  He married SARAH BOSTICK WELLS ca 1788 in Brunswick County, North Carolina.  Born in 1769 in North Carolina, she was the daughter of STEPHEN WELLS.  She died ca 1850 in Brunswick County, North Carolina.   Benjamin died December 12, 1830 in North Carolina.
