The Greer family research starts in Co Tyrone, Northern Ireland. There are two lines which I'm not certain how they join, the two James's are probably 1st cousins (based on information in letters between the two groups). Both lines are from Eastern Tyrone.

 

I am a descendant of the Tievenagh Greer's, which remained in Northern Ireland on the whole. On the other side - the Tullyconnell Greers - of William Greers' 4 children, 3 of them went to the USA.
