River Bourgeois - Johannes Wilhelmus Van Mulkon, 55 of River Bourgeois died Thursday in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in Druten, Holland, he came to Canada in 1953 and owned and operated Riverside Industries, River
Bourgeois. Surviving besides his wife, the former Cecilia Peperkamp, are four daughters, Anja (Mrs. Simon Sampson), Antigonish; Vonnie (Mrs. Reid Carter), St. Peter's; Wilma (Mrs. Malcolm MacInnis), Salem, Pictou County; Sonya, at home; two sons, Hans and Wim, both at home. The body is in the Alex A Morrison's Funeral Home, St. Peter's. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday in St. John the Baptist Chirch, River Bourgeois, with burial in the parish cemetery.

Marie M. [Samson] Vermette - Bristol resident, retired nurse's aide.

Marie M. Vermette, 91, of 1 Lisa Lane died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was the wife of the late Euclid W. Vermette. Born in Nova Scotia, Canada, Mrs. Vermette was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Margaret (Lendon) Samson. She had lived in Bristol for 40 years. Mrs. Vermette was a nurse's aide at Crestwood Nursing Home in Warren for 29 years before retiring. Mrs. Vermette leaves a son, Robert E. Vermette of Tiverton; a daughter, M.
Edna Greene of Bristol; a sister, Sister Bertha Mae Samson of New Brunswick, Canada, and eight grandchildren and 21 geat-grandchildren. She was a sister of the late Beatrice McNeil, Edna Boyd, Almeida Goyetche, Margaret Ross and
Almeida, Florence and Alfred Samson. Funeral Services will be held Friday, Dec. 28, at 9 a.m. from Wilbur-Romano
Funeral Home, 615 Main St., Warren, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. At St. Mary of the Bay Church, Main Street, Warren. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Bristol.
