ARMSTRONG, Teresa Mary - 72, 26 Summer St., North Sydney, died August 18, 1998, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in North Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Mary (Haley) Samson. She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, North Sydney. She was active in her community for many years. She was a member of St. Joseph's CWL, a member of the church senior choir for many years and a former member of the mixed auxiliaries of both Council 5109 KOC and St. Joseph's Parish. She enjoyed the friendship and camaraderie of playing cribbage and was an active member of both the KOC
Mixed Cribbage Club and the Armstrong Memorial Legion Cribbage Club. Surviving are her husband, Kevin; daughter, Mary Beth, North Sydney; son, Kevin, Coxheath; sister, Rita, Windsor, Ont.; brother, Joe, Cambridge, Ont.; two grandchildren; a cousin. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Thursday in W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Funeral 10 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph's Church, Rev. Tom MacNeil officiating. ARSENEAU, LEO JOSEPH

ARSENEAU, Leo Joseph - 89, 10 Maple St., Springhill, died January 7, 1996, in All Saints Hospital, Springhill. Born at Springhill Junction, Cumberland Co., he was a son of the late John Leon and Sophie (Landry) Arseneau. He was a member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Springhill; Royal Canadian Legion branch 17 and a former member of Knights of Columbus, Springhill. Most of his working life was spent as a baker with Fox's Bakery, Springhill. He had also worked at railroad maintenance with Cumberland Railway and Coal Co., and served as janitor at the Springhill Armouries and Cumberland Vocational School, Springhill. His favorite hobbies were singing and fishing. Surviving are sisters, Mrs. Leona Hachey, Mrs. Alice Brine, Margaret (Mrs. Darrell Ogles), Springhill; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; companion,
Mrs. Barbara Capstick, Springhill. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Beatrice Bennett; daughter, Marion MacPherson; brothers, Teddy, Thomas, Arthur; two sisters in infancy. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in A.H. Brown

AUCOIN (Doyle), Kathleen Gertrude - 88, Halifax, passed away Monday, July 13, 1998, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in St. Peter's, she was a daughter of the late James and Gertrude (Lawlor) Doyle. She was a graduate of the Convent of the Sacred Heart Academy and Dalhousie University. A noted athlete at Dalhousie, she was for many years one of the province's top tennis players. She taught at St. Patrick's School in Halifax prior to her marriage. She was a longtime member of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish and a member of the Catholic Women's League. She was a member of the Waegwoltic Club. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles
Aucoin. She is survived by daughters, Nancy and husband Edward Lingley, Dartmouth; Judy and husband Richard Salinetti, Lee, Mass.; Johanna and husband Michael Slaunwhite, Halifax; sons, Peter and wife Margot, Halifax; James and wife Sarah, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Grant, Scot and Kathleen Lingley; Nicole, Paul and Richard Aucoin; Lisa, Terri and James Salinetti; Katie and Sheila Aucoin; great-grandchildren, Alexander and Matthew Lingley; sister, Marion Doyle, Halifax; brother, Pierce Doyle, Timberlea.     AMEY, Catherine Jean - 87, passed away Friday, May 15, 2003, in Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto. Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late, Ansel and Rachel (MacRae) Carrigan. Formerly of Pondville, Richmond Co., Catherine moved to Toronto two years ago following a decline in her health due to a stroke, so she could be close to her children at this difficult time in her life. She was dearly loved and will be missed by her family and friends. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9  p.m. Tuesday in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. John's Anglican Church, Arichat, Rev Michael Conrad officiating. Catherine will be laid to rest along side her husband Roland in St. John's Anglican Church Cemetery, Arichat, following the funeral service. ADAMSSON, Vergin Genevieve - In her 88th year, Vergin Genevieve Adamsson, of St. Peter's, formerly of Lower L'Ardoise, Cape Breton, was called home on Thursday morning, April 27, 2006. She was cared for during her final days in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. She will be sadly missed by her sons, Nils (Marcella), Pat (Mary), Jeffrey (Deborah), Dale; daughters, Lillie Spray and Barbara (Philip) Campbell; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Jane McGrath, Baie Comeau; sister-in-law, Lena Landry, Lower L'Ardoise; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry; infant daughter, Mary; parents, Passia Landry and Mary (Doyle) (Lower L'Arodoise); sister, Evelyn Landry (Halifax); brothers, Amos Landry (Halifax), Jeffrey Landry (Lower L'Ardoise); eight siblings in childhood; granddaughter, Michelle Risi (Kitchener, Ont.); great-grandson, Drew Harding (Shelburne). Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday in L'Ardoise Funeral Home, located on the grounds of Holy Guardian Angels Church. ADAMS, Clifford - On October 18, 2007, Cliff passed away peacefully in Arichat at the age of 89. Cliff follows his wife of almost 60 years, Betty, who died two years ago. Cliff was a veteran of the Second World War serving overseas in France, Belgium and The Netherlands, and in later life, taught technical subjects in high schools in Jamaica and Quebec. Cliff's final years were spent in the St. Anne Centre in Arichat where the warm and caring staff brightened his days. He will be truly missed, especially by daughters, Sue and Robin, and their families. Burial service will be held in Montreal at a later date.
