JULIAN, Margaret Marcella - 84, died December 13, 1996, in Head of Jeddore, at
the home of caregiver, Joanne Calvert. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of
the late Jeremiah and Annie (Jackson) Landry. She was a longtime resident of
Grand Desert. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was
predeceased by her husband, Ferdinand. She is survived by daughter, Dianne (Mrs.
Hans LeJeune), Enfield; sons, Paul, Grand Desert; Bryan, Toronto, Ont.;
grandchildren, Danny, Denise, Pamela, Stacey, Nicole, Michelle, Jennifer, Derek,
Maria. Visitation will be in Rowling's Funeral Home, Musquodoboit Harbour, today
7-9 p.m., Sunday 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be in St. Anslem's Roman Catholic
Church, West Chezzetcook, at 11 a.m. Monday, December 16. Burial will be in the
church cemetery. Reception will be in the church hall immediately following

JOHNSON (Landry), Lorraine - 52, Lower Sackville, died Monday, August 25, 1997,
in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, VG Site, Halifax, after a courageous battle
with cancer. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of Mary Evelyn (Landry) Landry,
Halifax, and the late Henry Landry. She was a former employee of Statistics
Canada. Surviving are her husband, Roland Johnson; daughter, Darlene, at home;
sons, Michael, Saint John, N.B.; Shawn, at home; brothers, Dan, Hubley; Pat,
Halifax; Roy, Halifax; Lawrence, Lower Sackville; two grandchildren. Visitation
will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today and Wednesday in Snow's
Funeral Home, Windsor Street, Halifax. Funeral service will be Thursday at 10
a.m. in St. Stephen's Church, Normandy Drive, Halifax, Rev. Donald Boudreau

JABALEE, Leona Mary - 70, Halifax, and formerly of North Sydney, passed
away peacefully with her family and friends on Sunday, September 21, 2003,
in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Petit de Grat, she was a daughter
of the late Harry T. and Florence (Samson) Boudreau. Leona led a full and
rewarding life working as a homemaker as well as 20 years at the Fortress
of Louisbourg. Leona had many hobbies and passions which included gardening,
cooking, crafts, golfing and curling. Leona's favourite place was in the
kitchen and filled many with hearty meals and love. Leona enjoyed traveling
and experienced many different cultures and meeting new people. She was an
active member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and St. Joseph's
Parish, North Sydney. The past four years provided much enjoyment at her trailer
in St. Anne's Bay Camp Park surrounded by many close friends. Thank you for
all the wonderful memories Mom (Mémé, Leona). We will cherish
our memories and your love. We will miss you forever, our loving mother.
Leona was predeceased by her husband, "Abe" A. Jabalee in 1993; brother, Nick

JOYCE, Emily Ann - 56, Louisdale. It is with great sadness that we announce the
passing of Emily in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston, surrounded by her loving
family on September 16, 2007. Born in Arichat, she was a daughter of the late
Gerard Matthew and Hazel Theresa (Tavenor) Britten. She is survived by her
loving and caring husband of 37 years, Bobby; daughter, Lydia (Allan) O'Donnell
of Fredericton, N.B., and son, Robert (Kimberly) and granddaughter Kailey Joyce
of Hammonds Plains. She is also survived by sisters, Claire Bonin (her twin) and
her companion Roger Mauger of D'Escousse; Nancy Britten and her companion
Lindsay Marshall of Arichat; brothers, Richard Britten (Sheila) of Martinique;
Billy Britten (Shirley) of Arichat; and brother-in-law, Chuck Boudreau of
Arichat. She was predeceased by sisters, Emily (in infancy) and Donna; brother,
John, and brothers-in-law, Vincent Bonin and Dean Samson. Her working career
took her through many business endeavors from a bank teller, to owner/operator
of several retail establishments, ending with her favourite of all - Emily was
best-known for the 11 tireless years she and Bobby spent as the faces of the
canteen in the Richmond Arena. She often said how amazing it was to have known
the children of the community from the time they were very young right through
adulthood and to then be able to meet and watch their children skate and grow.
"The canteen lady" always had a huge smile and a friendly face. She was loved by
all who had the privilege to have know her. Most of all, her entire family was
the driving force behind everything she did. From simple birthday parties to
major family gatherings, she was thereÉ "anyone for a game of scat?" Cremation
has taken place. Visitation will be held in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in
Arichat on Wednesday, September 19, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The memorial service
will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 20, in St. Louis Parish in Louisdale.

JOYCE, Marie Jeannette - 69, of Arichat, died October 10, 2007, at home in
Arichat. Born in Arichat, she was the daughter of Kathleen (Marchand) Richard
and the late Amable Richard. She was a founding member of the St. Anne's
Auxiliary, a past member of the C.W.L. of Arichat. She is survived by son,
Gilles (Jean); brothers, Alphonse (Pat), Ernest (Pam) and Clarence. The remains
have been donated to the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology, Halifax. She
was predeceased by her husband, Elmer, and son Jerome. There will be a memorial
mass in her honor at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, October 14, at Our Lady of Assumption
Catholic Church in Arichat, with Rev. Duaine Devereau officiating. Donations to

JOLLYMORE, Alfred Colin - 76, Petit de Grat, passed away peacefully surrounded
by his loving family November 2, 2007, in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston.
Born May 15, 1931, in Petit de Grat, he was the son of the late Percy Gorley and
Evangeline (Boudreau) Jollymore. He was a lifetime member of Royal Canadian
Legion Branch 150 Arichat. He is survived by his wife, Marie Annette (Marchand),
Petit de Grat; daughter, Catherine (Elaine) Kehoe, and companion, Clarence
Landry, Rocky Bay; sons, Kenneth, Harvey, and Wayne, all of Petit de Grat;
Herman (Jackie), Little Anse; Neil (Judy), Arichat; Joey (Shelly), Antigonish;
seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters, Catherine Forgeron, West
Arichat; Lucille Marchand, companion Albert, Petit de Grat; Marcella Miltenbury,
Woodstock, Ont. He was predeceased by sisters, Mary, Irene, Evangeline, Mildred,
and Loretta; brothers, Percy, Joe and George. There will be no visitation.
Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. in St. Joseph's
Church, Petit de Grat, with Rev. Duaine Devereaux officiating. Burial in Star of
the Sea Cemetery, Petit de Grat. Memorial donations can be made to Isle Madame
Veteran's Comfort Fund or The Children's Wish Foundation. Reception will follow

JOLLYMORE, Marie Cecile "Violet" - 95, Arichat, passed away on February 17,
2008, at her residence in St. Anne Community and Nursing Care Centre, Arichat.
Born in Arichat, she was a daughter of the late John Baptist and Mary Jane (Forgeron)
Dugas. Violet was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is
survived by son, John (Bonnie), Union Ont.; and Alister (Francine), West Arichat;
grandchildren, Darlene, Charlene, Robbie, and Renee; great-grandchildren,
Nathan, Alisia, Olivia, Isiah, Owen, and Elijah. She was predeceased by her
husband, Alexander Percy Jollymore; daughter, Donna; sister, Eva; brothers,
Francis, Edmund, and Joseph. Visitation will take place today from 2-4 and 7-9
p.m. in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat. Mass of Christian Burial to
celebrate the life of Violet will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Immaculate
Conception Church, West Arichat, with Rev. Duaine Devereaux officiating. Burial

JEFFREY, Norman Joseph - Passed away peacefully in his 73rd year on Sunday,
March 16, 2008, in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston, surrounded by his loving
family. Born in Louisdale, he was a son of the late Charles and Eva (Samson)
Jeffrey. He was the beloved husband of Mary Lena; dear father of Brenda (Joe),
D'Escousse; Vincent, Halifax; Gerald (Sharlene), Louisdale; cherished brother of
Margaret, Rita, Josephine, Kathleen (Joe Venadam), Leo, Albert (Emmaline),
Arthur (Gertie). Seven stepchildren, eight grandchildren and one
great-grandchild will also miss him dearly. He was predeceased by brothers,
Alfred, Joseph and Willard, and sisters, Beatrice and Mary May. He was proud to
be an honorary member of Legion Branch 47, Grande Anse. He received his 10 year
pin in January. He enjoyed life working as a carpenter and fisherman, and was
quite active in the community. Before his illness, everyone would see him
peddling fish or digging clams. He enjoyed talking with everyone. He always had
a story or joke to tell. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved
him. Friends will be received at the Glen Sampson Memorial Room, Louisdale,
today from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of funeral
at 3 p.m. in St. Louis Parish Church, Louisdale, with Rev. Angus MacDougall
officiating. Burial to follow in St. Louis Parish Cemetery, Louisdale.

JULIEN, Philomena Marguerite - 81, West Porters Lake. It is with great sadness
our family announces the passing of our mother, grandmother and mother-in-law on
Sunday, Decem-ber 4th, 2011. Born in Grand Desert, Halifax Co., she was the
youngest daughter of the late Victor and Ethel (LaPierre) Bonin. She is
sur-vived by sons, David (Gail Bar-rett) and Gerard (Lisa Publicover) and
grandchil-dren, Brandon, Ja-mie, Emilie and Mathew; sister, Aletha Johnson. She
was predeceased by husband, Kenneth; sisters, Marion Bonin, Muriel Hobrecker,
Mabel Les-lie and Sister Isabel Bonin. We would like to thank the 3rd Floor
palliative care nurses of Dartmouth General Hospital for their kindness during
this difficult time. Visitation will take place in Rowlings Funeral Home,
Musquodoboit Harbour, on Wednes-day, December 7th, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of
Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 8th, in St.
Anselm's Church, West Chezzetcook, Father Gregory Agey-man presiding. Interment
