KEHOE (Britten), Mary Edna - 82, St. Andrews, Antigonish Co., formerly of Rocky Bay, Richmond Co., died October 18, 1996, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital. Born in Poirierville, Richmond Co., she was a daughter of the late Matthew and Mary Jane (Bourque) Britten. She was a well-known school teacher for 38 years, teaching in several areas in the Richmond County School Board System. Upon her retirement she moved to St. Andrews to reside with her daughter Paula. She was a member of St. Andrew's Parish and St. Andrew's Senior Citizens. Surviving are sons, Ralph, Eric, Rocky Bay; daughters, Carmel
(Mrs. Alex Lamey), Glenora Road; Paula (Mrs. John D. MacDonald), St. Andrews brothers, Ralph, Frank, Arichat; Carl, Abbotsford, B.C.; sisters, Lorna (Mrs Willard George), Mrs. Norma Stone, Arichat; Roma (Mrs. Charles Faulkner),

KEHOE, Ralph David Guy - 53, Rocky Bay, Richmond Co., died November 15, 1996  in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Arichat, Richmond Co. he was a son of the late Chester and Mary Edna (Britten) Kehoe. He was a
mechanic most of his life. Bernard F. Konning, 58, of River Bourgeois, Richmond County, died Saturday at home. Born in Holland, he was a son of the late John and Elizabeth (Kruitwagen) Konning. Surviving besides his wife, the former Helen Bouchie, are six sisters, Jo Hanna, Leida, Marie, Grada, Dora, and Christine, all of Holland; five brothers, Albert, Hendrick and John all of Holland; Joseph, Bloomfield, Ont; and Tony, River Bourgeois. The body is at his residence, River Bourgeois. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Church, River Bourgeois, Rev. High Macdonald officiating with burial in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

KEITH, Loretta Matilda (Tussie) - Brooklyn, Hants Co., passed away  peacefully in the company of her family on Friday, November 14, 1997, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, at the age of 80. Born on October  25, 1917, in D'Escousse, Isle Madame, Richmond Co., she was a daughter of the late A. Leonard and Florence C. (Doyle) Pertus. She was  a registered nurse, graduating from the Halifax Infirmary, Class of 1939. Loretta and her husband, Alexander, moved from Halifax to Brooklyn in 1956. She and her husband and their family were very active in the Nova  Scotia Horse Show Association, showing Hackney ponies. Tussie gave of  herself to the community through her commitment to many associations As a dedicated supporter of the Girl Guides movement for 40 years, she  was deeply involved with the Newport District group and served as  district commissioner of the Girl Guides of Canada. She was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Brooklyn; the Nova Scotia Agriculture Society; the Canadian Equestrian Federation; board member of West Hants Historical Society; member of Kings College School guild; Hants  West Home and School; Women's Institute of Nova Scotia; Newport Jolly Seniors; past president of the Windsor branch of the Canadian  Association for Family Living, where their new building, New Boundaries,  in Windsor was co-named the Keith-Taylor Building. She was a member  of the board of directors of Kings Meadows and of Dykeland Lodge, where she had been a resident for the past six months. She was a tireless  campaigner for the Canadian Cancer Society and Heart and Stroke  Foundation, and will be remembered for her many years of volunteer  work and kindheartedness. She was a loving mother and grandmother and  will be sadly missed by her family and her community. She is survived by sons, Donald and wife Brenda (Goodfellow), Milford; David and wife  Janice (Bateman), Brooklyn; granddaughters, Karen and Julia Keith; grandson, Colin Keith; sisters, Susan Murphy, D'Escousse; Jeanette and husband Charles Hilchie, Fall River; brother, John Pertus and wife Trudy,  Halifax; nieces, Joan Mainguy, Sillery, Que.; Laura Bell, Halifax;  nephews, Mark and Tim Pertus, Halifax. She was predeceased by her  husband of 33 years, Alexander (Alex) Hugh Holmes Keith in 1975;  brother, Timothy (Tim) Pertus; niece, Patricia (Tish) Pertus. KEHOE (Poirier), Lorraine Corinne - Passed away peacefully at her home in Rocky Bay, September 12, 1999, at the age of 77. Born in Poirierville in 1921, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Alexandra Poirier. She married and moved to Rocky Bay. She is survived by her husband, John A. Kehoe and her 11 children; daughters, Cynthia, Elaine, both of Ontario; Nancy, Rocky Bay; sons, Hector, Patrick, Paul, Al, all of Rocky Bay; Myles, Inverness; Robert, Port Hawkesbury; Steven, North Sydney; Vincent Vancouver.

He was a graduate of St. Mary's University in 1957; Nova Scotia Technical College (TUNS), in 1959, as an Electrical Engineer. He was an employee of Nova Scotia Power Commission from 1959-1968 and Stora Forest Industries, Point Tupper, from 1968 until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of St. Joseph's Parish and a member of S.A.E.R.C. Advisory Council. KAWUZA, Mae - L'Ardoise, died November 10, 2004, in Richmond Villa. Born in L'Ardoise 95 years ago, she was one of 13 children of the late Pascal and Jane (Martell) Samson. She worked at Canadian General Electric in Toronto for many years until her retirement. She soon moved back home to L'Ardoise to be near her family. She is survived by sisters, Emeline (Mrs. Johnnie Peters), L'Ardoise, Sophie (Mrs. Harold Doe), Toronto, and Rose Samson, L'Ardoise. She was predeceased in 1963 by her husband, Mike; brothers, Leo, Wallace, Clarence, Gerald, Gordon; sisters, Irene (Mrs. Joe Gaudet), Delia
(Mrs. Barney Rogers), Emma (Mrs. Urbain Martell) and one sister in infancy. No visitation. Cremation has taken place. Funeral mass will be held Monday, November 15, at 11 a.m. in Holy Guardian Angels Church, L'Ardoise, Rev. Barrett-Clare Johnson officiating. Burial will take place at her husband's side in Toronto. KAVANAUGH-YOUNG, Mary Catherine - 80, Halifax and formerly of North Sydney, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 28, 2006, in St. Vincent's Guest House, Halifax, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bay St. Lawrence, she was the oldest daughter of the late Matthew Whitty and Elizabeth (MacDonald) Whitty. Mary was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was generous with her time and talents. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. She loved to cook and bake and always had room for one, two or ten more at her table. During her stay in St. Vincent's she was easily recognized by her ready smile and in turn was loved by both staff and residents. She is survived by her caring and devoted husband of almost eight years, Patrick Young; her daughters, Mary (Venard) Boudreau, Petit de Grat; Linda (Merino) Dipersio, North Sydney; Wilhelmina "Willie and Chip" (Alphonsus) Healy, Dartmouth; Casilda Gallagher, Perth Andover, N.B.; her sons, Douglas (Jean) Cavanaugh, Timothy Kavanaugh, both of North Sydney; Calvin (Debbie) Kavanaugh , Mississauga, Ont. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; sisters, Clara Samson, Port Hawkesbury; Elizabeth Shea, Ingonish; Genevieve (John Roland) Samson, Italy Cross; brothers, Dan (Stella) Whitty, Bras d'Or; Billy (Edna) Whitty, Clarence Whitty, both of Louisdale; Melvin (Marlene) Whitty, Halifax; sisters-in-law, Sarah Ballantyne, Dorothy Dezajiacomo and Casilda Whitty. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years, William Douglas Kavanaugh and their precious children, Brian Alonzo and Casilda Emma; grandchildren, Deborah Ann Boudreau and Derek Dipersio; great-grandson, Andrew Whitty Kavanaugh; sister, Alberta Jane, and brother, Timothy A.; daughter-in-law, Peggy Kavanaugh; brothers-in-law, Aussie Shea, Francis Sampson and Everett Kavanaugh. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. KENNEDY, Dennis Dwayne - 37, Cole Harbour. It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of Dennis Kennedy, which occurred Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at home. Born in Sydney, he was a son of the late Garfield Thomas and Lucy (Burke) Kennedy. Dennis served his country with the military for 10 years as a medic. He served overseas in Bosnia, returning home to be employed with TJ's Pet Grooming in Lower Sackville. Dennis enjoyed spending time with his pride and joy, his daughters, Tonia and Sarah. His love for animals was evident in his attendance of dog shows and his affection for his pure breeds. Dennis is survived by his wife, Aimee; daughters, Tonia and Sarah, at home; best friend, Jamie Maxwell; siblings, Tommy (Linda), Harry (Glenda), Sandy (Carol), Alvin (Sherry), Donald (Betty), Leonard (Arlene), Elaine, Jackie (Kenny), Bobby (Mary), Stephen (Danita), Glenda (Billy), Jamie (Jennifer), Jody (Sherry), as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his nieces, Crystal Dawn Covin and Melissa Christina Kennedy. Cremation has taken place. KELLY, Clarisse Marie - 76, passed away peacefully in her sleep with her husband, Gerald, by her side Thursday morning, January 10, 2008, after an intense battle with aggressive cancer. Born in West Arichat, Cape Breton, her small town kindness and friendliness touched all she met. She was thedaughter of Katherine and Peter Theriault. Clarisse was a witty and loving mother and wife of 55 years, leaving behind her husband and true soul mate, Gerald; children, son, Denis; daughter, Paula (Doug) Brown; son, Timothy; granddaughters, Lindsay, Conor, Brianne, and Katherine; siblings, Joseph (Dorothy) Theriault, Vangie Wolfe, Ruth (Paul) Cadeau, Henry (Debbie) Theriault, and Dannie (Lorna) Theriault. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Ruby Theriault for all she has done for us, as well as Dr. Ernie Johnson for his continuing care over the past year. KENNEDY, John Donald - 62, Port Hawkesbury, died Sunday, May 18, 2008, at home. Born in Port Hawkesbury, he was the son of the late Donald and Mary Jess (Mac Intyre) Kennedy. He was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, Port Hawkesbury. He was a retired employee of Canada Post and a lifetime member of CUPW, Local 102 of Port Hawkesbury. John had a passion for horses, racing for many years in Inverness, Port Hood, Sydney and North Sydney. He was a long-time member of USTA as well as Standard Bred Canada. Surviving are daughters, Paula (Alex) MacDonald, Port Hood; Donna (Perry) Carrigan, Port Hastings; Mary (Shawn) MacIntyre, Halifax; sons, Gerard (Janet), Marion Bridge; Malcolm, Port Hawkesbury; Donald (Tanya), Frankville; sister, Marie MacDonald, Port Hawkesbury; grandchildren, Jessica, Brennen and Brooke. He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce (MacDonald) (August 8, 2000). KEHOE, Nathan Gerald - 16, of Martinique. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our little 'fighting Irishmen' a term used to describe how valiantly and bravely he fought cancer for the last four years. Nathan was born in Halifax May 22, 1994. He lost his battle at IWK Health Centre 6 Link in Halifax on March 30, 2011, surrounded by his loving and adoring family: dad Ron, mother Annette (Bourque) and his two big-gest fans, brother Jordan, Dartmouth and sister Lindsay, at home as well as godfather Trevor who traveled from Yellowknife to be with us. Nathan knew and enjoyed the love and support of a large and extend-ed family. Nathan was a very focused young man who aspired to someday become a physician - his dreams to achieve this were support-ed by the wonderful friends and teach-ers at Ecole Beau Port. Nathan was al-so a very accomplished sailor with the 235 Arrow Sea Cadet Corp in Arichat, having won many awards and acco-lades. He made many lasting friend-ships
through cadets especially that of Katie Burke from Fredricton, N.B. whom he met while attending camp in St. John's, N.L., where he was successful in achieving his White Sail Level 111, despite having just completed 14 rounds of chemotherapy, radiothera-py and major reconstructive surgery to implant a rephysis in his left femur. He was truly an inspiration to all who met him. Nathan was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Howard Ke-hoe; maternal grandfather, Adrian Bourque and paternal aunt, Pat Poi-rier. Visitation will be held today in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, 633 Veteran's Memorial Dr.,

It is with heartfelt sadness we the family announce the passing of Elizabeth Lois (Latimer) Kennedy on Sunday, April 24, 2011, at the Celtic Court Guest Home surrounded by her loving family. Born Jan. 10, 1925, in Boston, Mass., the only child of the late Howard and Annie (Stewart) Latimer of Arichat. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and an exceptional friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Betty is survived by her six children, Lois (Conrad), Catalone, Stewart (Sandra) Catalone, Kevin (Debi), Fort McMurray, Veronica, Ottawa, Colleen Burns, Margaree Harbour, and Eddie (Christiane), Sydney; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many extended family members. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband, Edward, and son-in-law, John Burns. Visitation will take place Tuesday, April 26 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 27 at St. Joseph's Mission Parish, Albert Bridge, with Fr.
