Welcome to Our Family Page - A Place for Vintage Tractors, Engines & Our Genealogy

This site is dedicated to the Millar Family.  We hope you enjoy it

Hi there!  This is me, Brian, and as you can see Im getting a bit long in the tooth (not too long, yet).  I live with my wife Gillie on a small acreage in the western suburbs near Brisbane, Australia and for the last 25 years (nearly) I have worked for Queensland Rail, mostly as a freight train driver (coal and grain trains).  Early on I drove the passenger electric trains, but that turned me grey too quick, so I switched to freight trains and really love my job.   I’m experienced in steam, too.  Im hoping to retire in the not too distant future and maybe…a real big maybe…travel around Australia with Gillie.  I thought of driving a Chamberlain tractor and towing a small caravan….but Gillie hasn’t offered her thoughts on this yet…..she wants to travel around Australia, but I’m not sure if the tractor part will thrill her.  I’ll update you on that closer to the time.

I have about 12 tractors in various stages of revival.  Including a TD35 TracTractor, a Fordson, a 1930’s Allis Chalmers, a 1944 S-EX Case (which Gillie has claimed as her own and which I think just suits her)

I also have many Stationary Engines….(No pictures taken yet....that will come later when I update this site)

One dog, Lillee, a Tenterfield Terrier, and two cats Jessie (mother) and Diesel (son) and a multitude of wild ducks complete the family( except for the human kids!)

Hello, I’m Gillie and the day I met Brian I decided I could not beat him (well, the tractors and engines anyway) so I might as well join him, hence my involvement and unofficial ownership of the SexCase (well, I call it that anyway).  I drive my little flambeaux red tractor at all the local shows and soon I’m getting an umbrella to keep off the sunshine.  My Brian is real clever and has promised to erect a large umbrella on the Case, so instead of a Surrey with a Fringe on Top…it will be a Sexcase with a Fringe on Top!!
