4 Dec 1892-South Bountiful Ward-"Stephen H. Ellis spoke of the difference on a measure between a returned missionary and an Elder that has stayed home yet those at home can have the spirit of God as well as those on missions."

30 Apr 1893-"Stephen H. Ellis felt it a pleasure to stand before the saints and speak of the goodness of God. We should try and bring ourselves in submission to the mind and will of God and live up to the requirements that is made of us, asked the Lord to bless all."

11 Feb 1894-"Stephen H. Ellis desired the faith and prayers of the Saints that he might say something to edify. Said he had been away sometime amongst stock and looking after them and while away with some of the boys and was very sorry to hear them profane the name of their maker and would like to show them the errors of their ways and if possible get them to do better."

14 Oct 1894-"Stephen H. Ellis spoke of the necessity of living near to god and do the things required of us by the priesthood we should observe to keep the words of wisdom."

2 Dec 1894-"Stephen Hales Ellis-felt glad to once more meet with the saints we should appreciate the good health we enjoy and thank God for his goodness unto us. Related a dream he had while out in the mountains gathering and driving stock and counseled all to give heed to dreams and promptings of the spirit."
