Miscelleanous Teachman Families

There are several Teachman families that have been found that, in some way, are related to the family. We just don't know how and have little documentation. Input is welcome.

Aaron & Elizabeth Teachman Moss. Elizabeth b. about 1773 in NJ. The couple was married 19 Jan. 1797. Bergen Co., NJ, marriage records. Children: Aaron, b. 1802 & Eliza b. 1804, m. Christopher Schrivener. 1840, members Edenville church, Orange Co., NY. DAR record transcription. In the 1840 census they were living in Warwick Town, Orange Co., NY. In 1850 census, Elizabeth, 85, was living with Christopher, 68, and Eliza, 60, Scrivener, in Warwick Town, Orange Co., NY.

William & Eleanor Teachman McMullen. The couple was married 19 May 1818 in Bergen Co., NJ. Bergen Co. marriage records.

Emma Teachman, b. abt. 1780 in NY. Child, Eliza b. 1802 in NY and m. Casper Schriver/Shriver. 1844, Emma held a mortgage on property of Ira & Temprance Horton in Warwick Town, Orange Co., NY. In 1860 census, she was 80 and living with Eliza, 58, and Casper, 65.

John & Eleanor Teachman Conklin. They were married 24 July 1803 by George G. Brinkerhoff, V.D.M., at the Reformed Dutch Church of West New Hempstead (now in Rockland County), NY. Their daughter Catharine was born 12 Nov. 1813 and baptized March 16. Pompton Plains Dutch Reformed Church records.

Charles & Rebecca Teachman Hunter. No issue. Married 9 Nov. 1848, Monroe Presbyterian Church records, Orange Co., NY. 1850 census, she was 36 and the couple was living in Barton Town, Tioga Co., NY. 1870 census, she was 56 and couple living in Lenox Town, Susquehanna Co., PA. 1880 census, she was 66 and couple living in Waverly Town, Lackawanna Co., PA. Rebecca, b. 1808, died 19 Oct. 1888 and is buried in Peckville Union Cemetery, Lackawanna Co., PA. Charles, b. 1811, died 2 June 1895 and is buried in Dalton Schonover Cemetery, Lackawanna Co., PA. For many years, Mary Teachman was a part of the Hunter household. Upon Charles' death, Mary was named executor of his estate in his will and received his estate (Estate 3379): "I, Charles A. Hunter of Waverly Borough, County of Lackawanna, State of Pennsylvania, being of sound mind and memery and understanding do meek this my last will and testament in manner and form as following to with I give divise bequath Mary Teachman my wifes nease and Daughter of James Teachman her hehrs and assignes for ever all my property real and persenal and mixed of what ever..." This indicates that Rebecca and James were siblings. (See James Teachman)

John, 50, and Mary, 45, Teachman. The couple was living in Damascus Town, Wayne Co., PA in 1860 census. Other family members were Eliza, 36; Jas., 14; Richd., 12; and Ed, 10.

Amy Teachman. 1. b. 6 May 1844, daughter of Abraham & Louisa Teachman. Married Moses Lee. Family records. 2. 1839, member of Edenville church, Orange Co., NY. DAR record transcription.

Mariah Teachman. 1824 & 1825, Paterson, NJ. Rev. Fisher's Census of Patterson.

Frances Teachman. 28 Feb. 1833, Morris Co., NJ, he purchased property from Peter S. Johnes. 12 June 1839, he sold property to Leah Berry.

York, Dinah, and Isaac Teachman. 1855 NJ State Census.
