Will of Elenor Jones 1839

In the Name of God Amen
This is the last Will and Testament of me Elenor Jones of the Great House in the parish of Llangattock Lingoed within the County of Monmouth Spinster being weak in body but of sound and dispoaing mind memory and understanding do by this my last will dispose of all my goods chattels and effects in manner and form following that is to say I give devise and bequeath unto my brother James Jones all my money bequeathed to me by my late Father James Jones Senior both of the parish & county aforesaid and all other money or goods I may be ^possessed of I entrust to^ dispose of or - - - to the same as hereinafter prescribed by this my will I give devise [marginal note: original so] ^and bequeath^ out of the money bequeathed to my before mentioned brother James the annual sum of five pounds unto my daughter Mary Ann Price wife of John Price of the parish of Llantilo Pertholey in the aforesaid County Laborer to be paid to her in two equal payments half yearly the first payment to be made at twelve calendar [marginal note: original so] months ^next after my decease^ that is to say the first half at the time hereinbefore specified and to continue to be paid for and during the term of her natural life and after her decease I give devise and bequeath unto her two children now living the sum of one hundred pounds to be equally divided between them at the age of twenty five years or death of their mother and if the one of the aforesaid children should die and leave no issue lawfully begotten of their body then the survivor either sister or brother to have the full sum bequeathed to both and if both die and leaving no such issue the bequest to be void and of none effect that is to say if they die before they arrive at the several ages of twenty five years that being the age they are intended to receive the same if their mother be dead when they attain such severally but not in her lifetime and I do also nominate ^constitute^ and appoint my before named brother James Jones to be Executor and Residuary legatee to all the remains or remainder of my property and do hereby revoke all other will or wills by me at any time heretofore by me made and confirming this to be my last In witness whereof I the said testatrix Elenor Jones have set my hand and seal this thirty first day of May one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight ——— Elenor Jones ———
Signed sealed published and declared by the testatrix Elenor Jones as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in her presence and at her request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereof Edward James Cathleer Llangattock Lingoed John Gwillim of the Wain Clodock.

This will was proved at London on 18th May 1839 by James Jones, brother
of the deceased.
